About

Gaia Bio
I registered here in 2003 and used to be pretty active (mainly in the Exchange, where I worked for two price guides: EVIL, and then SIN), but took most of 2005 & 2006 off, barely checking in every few months to approve applications for my guild. I've missed out on tons of good items, so if you have any spare 2005/2006 letters or donation items (or event items, come to think of it!), PM me and we'll work out a trade, as I've got plenty of stuff from 2004. icon_3nodding.gif

I've drifted back this year, and though I've been fairly quiet on the posting front (except for here and there in art-related forums - usually either requesting avatar art, giving it away, or colouring for contests), you can nearly always find me either fishing, gambling, or wandering around in Gaia Towns. icon_whee.gif Come and see my house at 29 Barton 001881, and tell me what you think!

I'm very open to friend requests and PMs from anyone, as long as I actually know you on some level (for friend requests), and as long as you're not begging (for PMs). I'll happily donate to my friends whenever I can, but I have no respect for people whose first words to a perfect stranger are "hey, can I have...?" icon_xp.gif

Personal Bio (really, who cares? icon_xd.gif)
I'm Sarah, 22, from Newcastle in Australia. I'm in my last year of my Bachelor of Arts (fingers crossed), and I'm majoring in both philosophy and ancient history. If you were going to ask what I'm going to do with that degree, I can tell you I'll stick it somewhere very uncomfortable if you ask any more dumb questions. icon_wink.gif University = more than just vocational training. Knowledge = more than just a means to an end. icon_rolleyes.gif I already have qualifications and experience in both IT and land conservation & management, and it's more than likely I'll go back to work in one of those two fields when I'm done with my degree.

I'm very much into gaming - born and bred on the PC, it's still my favourite system, but I've collected quite a hoard of consoles over the years too. I don't go anywhere without my Nintendo DS (at the moment, I'm loving Elite Beat Agents and I'm finally getting into Mario Kart). icon_smile.gif I don't have a favourite genre, there are things about a whole range of games that captivate me. icon_3nodding.gif It's all about the ways different designers approach the interaction between the game and the player. I could think about games all day long. I guess, in an ideal world, I'd be a gaming journalist. Except less of a wanker than is typical in mainstream publications.

I love Japanese culture and history, it's a really interesting society to me, for so many different reasons. I love anime, of course, and my favourites are Evangelion, Lain, Haibane Renmei, Jungle wa Itsumo Hale Nochi Guu, FLCL, Oruchuban Ebichu and anything by Studio Ghibli.

Oh, and I ramble. Just a little bit. icon_xd.gif
