Yeah, I love Gary. ^^ A lot of people are complaining about the third and fourth arc along with the rivals like some of them are too friendly (In Ruby and Sapphire, Brendan and May are rivals and their the main characters). You should see Silver from Gold/Silver/Crystal though. He's Giovanni's son and he's even worse than Gary... I'm not sure if I remember this, but people were saying at one point he even kicks you really far. People are saying rivals are supposed to be more of an antagonist. I kind of feel like agreeing... I kind of liked Richie from the anime though and he was nice I think.
