Why/How I joined Gaia

People always want to know how another person found out about Gaia. Since I hear this a lot, I guess I can reveal that info.

On September 3rd, 2003, I was visiting a friend at her house. At the time, she kept her computers in the basement. I wanted to get online to check something but she told me to wait.

She had to check a "post" on a website. I had no idea what as "post" was, so I let her do her thing. Typing in "www.go-gaia.com" the front page displayed a cat girl and a red haired man and the large fonted "Gaia". I was slightly intrigued.

She logged in and went to go check out a post in the Chatterbox. Something about a wizard answering questions. She explained to me what Gaia was. An RP site. And the avatars amazed me.

To have MY character with a speech bubble in front of his face, in this virtual world was cool enough for me. I joined that day, and never looked back!
