Turning of the Wheel - my Gaia Art Shop
Reopened after a year of inactivity.
Janish - incorrigible WoW addict and digital artist.
That's me in a nutshell. I am semi-active on Gaia, depending on my mood, how busy I am with real life and or raiding, and whether there's some shiny new item I really want.
In real life, I am a senior in high school. I plan to major in biology in the future. And go to med school if I can get in.
I spend most of my free time online. Contrary to what some people think, I do not spend a lot of 'extra' time on WoW. I am only logged on for raids, or if there's someone I want to talk to ingame. This is largely to prevent myself from getting burnout since I'm already geared for Ulduar. On the rare occasion that I'm feeling inspired, I level one of my alts. I have a Death Knight (doesn't everyone?) Rogue, Priest, and Alliance Shaman on Blackhand. When not on WoW, I'm often stalking deviantArt or checking a few forums for new updates.
My art is primarily centered around female fantasy/MMORPG characters and equines. I used to draw strictly equines, up until a few years ago when I was introduced to anime and manga by a friend. I do not (and am very bad at) draw male humanoids because I stay true to my gender (*cough* unlike some people I know *cough*) and never have male characters in any of the games/fictional universes I play. Lack of motive leads to lack of practice.
My art style is very frequently changing. I have, at one point or another, experimented with painting, soft shading, cel shading, and even 3D texturing. My lineart is usually some form of anime, although I'm making an effort to draw in realism and non-anime cartoon styles. I get art blocks very frequently, which is the main reason why I've been unable to maintain a shop on Gaia. /fail
My other, lesser known obsession is creating profiles. I am an amateur, don't get me wrong. Most of what I know about HTML/CSS was self-taught by examining the source codes of other pages. I do not steal code - I use it as a reference. Although tweaking a text box over and over until it aligns perfectly is extremely tedious and annoying, I like the challenge and the chance to test how well I can estimate pixels. As of now, I only make pages for Gaia profiles and Neopets Petpages.
Commissions - who, what, where, why, when, and how?
My commissions are never "closed," if the reason and reward are right. I am highly undependable, however, and procrastinate sometimes. No art request is too big, so long as it follows my basic list of will/will not dos. Bear in mind that my art style is always changing and if I have a style-change while working on your commission, it probably won't turn out in the same style as the reference pictures you saw. Quality should be around the same.
