and what would be more dramatic would be crying a little and make the tears fall on the card

when you go for the shoulder or hand, go gently, and slowly, not rushed.
and this should be a time where neither of you are rushing so you wont have a hard time reaching for both

when you give it to him, he should read it right away.
if he starts to walk away, stop him like, put your hand on his shoulder or catch his hand or something...
and when he turns around, look in his eyes and ask for him to read it at that moment... and dont forget please...lol
say it in a gentle, soft, voice...
