Hello! I know I'm random, and I know you don't need pesky people putting irritating questions here on your profile, but I just can't seem to find the answer for mine. It has been a while now, but a different account of mine was hacked, I filed the report, all that fun stuff. It was apparently verified that my account was indeed hacked into, but the e-mail I gave was in use. I sent a response, gave another e-mail, and nothing has happened since. Can you tell me if I did something wrong?

Yeah, I've been a bit busy myself. I noticed not too long ago, and sifted through some source code to see what made it tick, since the Dev Toolbar didn't seem to reveal much.


I think with some work, you could code it down to something similar to the original (?) button we had before.


Just a matter of background and padding, I think.

Do you work for Gaia?
Sorta. I'm a volunteer Omni Moderator. This means that I help keep the forums clean, and I work on hacking and scamming cases. But I don't get paid cash for this, hence the "Volunteer" title.

Help, I was hacked!
PMing me won't help you get your report handled any faster. If you've been hacked, you need to file a Hacking Report Form or else your case won't be handled. Make sure you file it within 30 days of the incident or else we can't help you.

Why was I banned?
If you were banned, you can PM any moderator and they can explain to you why your account was banned.

Why was my friend banned?
You'll have to ask your friend. Or tell your friend to PM a moderator to ask. We can't discuss a user's ban with other users.

How do I become a mod?

Sorry, but I don't take requests like this often. Sometimes I'll make profiles for friends or for myself, and sometimes I'll hold an auction, but I can't quite motivate myself enough to run a shop again.

As a rule, I deny all friend requests unless I actually know the person. This is because I don't feel the need to validate myself with a huge list of friends. I'd rather that everyone on my friendslist be there because they are my friend. If I don't even know you, then how can I call you a friend?

about the girl

So the real me. Well for starters, my name is Mandy. I'm 25 y/o and I've been married since July 14, 2007. I live in a Chicago suburb, and I'm currently working as a web developer at Carthage College.

In my free time, I do any number of things. First off, there's Gaia of course. I'm an omni mod, so I handle hacking and scamming cases. When I'm not doing those, I work on reports from my forums. And when I'm just not in the mood to mod, I make profiles or wander aimlessly.

The rest of my time is spent playing with my kitty, watching Memoirs of a Geisha over and over and over, and randomly playing other video games on any of our many video game systems.

I have a little brother who is a year and a half younger than me and 9 inches taller D: He's in the army, currently stationed in Iraq. He's been overseas before and we were hoping that was it, but alas, it could not be so. Next is a step-sister 9 years younger than me. Old enough to be using Gaia these days, though I've never showed it to her XD I don't think she'd have much interest in it XD Another 9 years after her is my baby half sis and six months later my baby half bro. Both of my parents got remarried and had babies between the start of my freshman year of college and the start of my sophomore year XD

About

I started on Gaia on a different account on July 18, 2003. Gaia was a quite different place back then.

In my time on Gaia, I've been all over the place. I started out in the CB, wandered over to Charity, hung out in the Q&F now and then, roamed some guilds from time to time. I finally ended up calling the PD home, still sneaking out to hop into the GCD, do a little roleplaying in guilds, and check out other people's profiles.

Then on July 3, 2006, I was added as a helper for the Profile Discussion forum. I spent about a year as a helper there before being invited to become a moderator on Jun 17, 2007, followed by an invite to become an omnimoderator on October 26, 2007

I was also given my 15 minutes of fame on Gaia in October 2006 when I was awarded the Profile Spotlight. That was a crazy experience that I'm glad I had the chance at. I got tons of comments, including some infamous lemonparty comments, and managed to run an auction that allowed me to finally get my DJs.

In my time on Gaia, I've made a lot of great friends on Gaia, and I'd say that's the main reason I've stayed on Gaia for over 4 years. I've got a few friends from "the old days" who would never let me leave, and I've found a few more good friends recently that remind me that no matter how long you've been on Gaia, there's still someone out there you haven't met.

Nowadays, I'm not really in the forums much. I spend alot of my time doing my modly duties, and I occasionally find time to hop back into a forum to post or just read what's going on. I still consider the PD my home even if I'm not there very often.

about the profile

This profile was inspired by the art ll Xero ll entered into my recent art contest. The art inspired me to redesign my personal webpage, and I was so happy with the way the layout turned out that I decided to change my profile to match.

The profile was created using Photoshop CS2, the Web Developer's Toolbar extension for Firefox, and all the general knowledge I've accumulated in my 7 years working with CSS and 3 years working with Gaia Profiles specifically.
