Gold Star Service
1STair was formed in 1982 with a fleet of Boeing 757s and 767s. The 757s formed the backbone of the airline's domestic fleet, while the wide-bodied 767s formed the backbone of the airline's international fleet. The airline has two hubs: one domestic and one international. The airline's domestic operations are based in New York, New York while the airline's international operations are operated out of Paris, France.
1STair is the product of billionaire Sir Maximus Gunfort's design. As an international businessman he had travelled the world extensively on many airlines, never finding any satisfaction with any one airline. From an early age he often quipped that he'd one day start his own airline. Upon his retirement at age 65, he set out to create the world's perfect airline. Despite deregulation, soaring gas prices and international terrorism, Sir Maximus' life-long dream has been realized.
Today the airline utilizes aircraft from manufacturer Airbus and has a fleet of A320, A330, and A340 airliners. The A320s are used for short haul flights while the A330s and A340s are used on intercontinental flights. It has been announced that the airline is phasing out it's A340 aircraft due to high fuel costs and excessive maintenance requirements.
The airline's crew uniforms were designed and manufactured by the daughter of Sir Maximus Gunfort, Lady Lila Gunfort and her fashion house "Gunfort Designs." Like her father, Lady Lila has become a household name for her contribution to personal fashion and many retailers are clamoring for her to create an exclusive line for them. She has kindly refused and operates her own chain of elite retailers in the United States, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
