I used to have an entirely different description here, but that was before I finally realized a 4 1/2 year dream of starting a charity/donation/quest/assistance guild and if I want people to take it seriously I can't tout myself as this no-mercy, I'm not changing for anyone sort, because if I'm now running an assistance guild clearly I've changed for myself.

I have to say that I've begun to loathe the Exchange, the MP and the absolute and utter GREED on Gaia, this overwhelming desire people have to "make it big" and "get ahead" - these are PIXELS. They are here to give people a little warm fuzzy, make them feel good about coming here to relax and decompress from the real world. Being upset because one can't get an item one wants because they are just not as good at making gold or because they have a slow internet connection and can't snipe items out from other people's noses on the MP to resell for profit is no warm fuzzy, it's a cold empty.

It saddens me to think that so many people come to this site strictly to see how "rich" they can get. Since I started playing I've made over 300 MILLION gold. I have given more than 3/4 of it away. I make enough to get the items I want, to spoil my kids and to take care of my friends. I save a third (for my guild), spend a third (on myself, my kids and my friends) and donate a third (by gifting to other members randomly, offering donations to Gaian charities and helping others with quests OUTSIDE my guild). I realize these are principles that not many people will understand, but I'm a Mom who plays Gaia with her kids so we can share the game and enjoy it together, not so I can spy on them or check up on them behind their backs. I have kids who have pricey items and they respect their things and appreciate them, possibly more so on Gaia than in real life because on Gaia thing can get taken away by someone OTHER than Mommy. There's also a LOT more work involved in getting some of the items on Gaia because the competition with people who just want to buy and resell for more and more profits is overwhelming, sometimes to the point of just having to NOT get that dream item.

I have literally DOZENS of people to thank - my guildies - for helping me make this dream a reality. They have contributed gold, items, time and heart to make it come together and they are the most amazing, wonderful people on Gaia! I'd name them all here but I'd rather have you check out my guild so you can meet them!

My daughter (Bitsy_Rose) and son (Eternal Twilight 2009) both play Gaia, we all play together, actually, it's something we can do to enjoy our rainy-day time, our "too hot/cold to play outside" time and our "Let's dress-up without a mess-up" time. Bitsy collects rose items because her middle name is, in fact, Rose, and Ned, my son, collects bladed weapons because he's... well, he's into Bionicles and Wolverine and Blade and other superheroes who wield weapons well. I'm convinced he's going to want fencing lessons in a year or two!

I believe in giving fellow Gaians a hand UP, but I don't believe in giving a HANDOUT - assistance is best given to those who show that they are willing to work hard for what they want rather than those who work hard at wanting something for nothing. It's a philosophy that's gotten me through 24 years in business in the real world rat race and it's also contagious. Give someone a fish, feed them for a day. TEACH someone to fish, feed them for a lifetime. If you don't care for fish, the same applies to a loaf of bread or a potato, although potatoes aren't wholly nutritious.

Oh it's okay. I only wanted to know the name so I could try it on in the MP. Unfortunately, it clashes too much with the pinks, so I won't be investing in it todayy. And it's LMP is 789k, so you can make a nice hefty sum of gold on her. biggrin

i loved your about me. its really true alot of people want to see how rich they can get, and who can get rich the fastest, then the people that want something, but not to work for it. im going to check out your guild, i love to donate, when im not questing (mainly to get others things) so it would be alot of fun to be in a guild thats doing something i really like to do.
