About

Well, it all started back in 1974, back when Vietnam was on the verge of ending, and the hippy era was at its peak. My friends and I, sick of this hippy s**t, got bored and decided to make our own music. So we got our instruments and formed a band. None of us knew s**t about writing music so we slapped some easy catchy chords together, a simple bass and drum beat, and called ourselves "The Rotten Trash". We got our first gig at a coffee house well known for being played by local hippy rock groups trying to be the next Beatles. We showed up in our rag-tag clothes held together with safety pins and crude sewing, getting the people in the joint to whisper back and forth, none had any idea what they were in for that night. We were loud, rude, and crude during the other bands' sets, but they didn't care cuz we were technically cheering em on. Jim, our bassist, even jumped on the mic with one of the bands when they did a cover of "Purple Haze". Finally the announcer gave us the cue as soon as we were set. "Our next band is a little group called... Rotten Trash... uh, lets give them a warm welcome. This is their first time ever here, lets show them how friendly we are here at the Corner Stone!". I stepped up to the mic, "So yeah, we're the Rotten Trash, straight from Brooklyn, and we're here to ******** s**t up!" Right on cue, we went straight into our first number "******** s**t Up". At the end, some of the audience cheered a little while laughing, some politely clapped, the rest were just blown away by whatever the hell just happened. "This next song is goes out to all the hippies!" And we played "******** the Hippies". We did two more songs, both titled "******** insert word here" of course. Then I closed it nicely with "******** you all, have a lovely ******** night". We got a few cheers and laughs, left, and celebrated back at our guitarist Steve's place. Apparantly after we left, they closed the café down for the night 'cuz the audience "didn't see any point in watching anything else after those Rotten Trash kids."
