9-6 Tiling, Grouting Taping and Mudding:
There isn't much major for the last little bits we did...no major mishaps (thankfully)
The rest of the tiles went in without issue, though cutting them made Massy's hands really hurt after a while
The grouting, which I tried and failed at (thank you carpal tunnel) went smoothly as well, though it took longer since Massy did it all himself.
But after dinner at the Chinese Buffet (I had a ton of sushi), it was home to mud and tape the walls.
This still hurt my hand, but I suffered through it. We still have a few corners to tape up and mud, but we can do that tonight.
And last night, we got our first bathroom resident
And he scared the hell out of me at first, but I stood there and watched him climb up the wall and hide in the ceiling.
9-8 Check out the pipes on us!:
Okay, so you know how the drain pipe was a bit off-center, well, that wasn't the actual issue...the issue is more that it sticks up almost a half inch too high!
Which means, it all has to be ripped out and redone.
It's bad enough we had to cut a floor joist just to get the drain pipe to the opening to begin with. Now this means to get the pipe in place, we will need to cut that support out and box it instead (adding cross beams for support where the joist has to be removed)
Now before you go saying "well why can't you do this:" bear in mind, these pipes went from 2 inch, down to 1 and 1/2 inch and onward into old copper piping...and my god, just look at this mess!
This jumbled mess would even make everyone's favorite overall wearing plumber cry "Mamma Mia"
So on Saturday, it'll all be cut out and removed. And in it's place, all 2 inch pipes like it should have been instead of this cobbled together gobbledygook! (which wasn't our fault)
