Chelsea’s Marco van Ginkel has received interest from AC Milan who are keen to offer the player the chance of regular football, according to reports in Italy.
The player admitted he is open to leaving Chelsea after just a year at Stamford Bridge that has been hampered by injury.
Milan want to sign the Dutchman on a loan with the possibility of making it permanent next summer.
The young midfielder joined the Blues last summer but suffered a season-ending injury in his side’s Capital One Cup win over Swindon in September.
Chelsea have boosted their attacking options in midfield with Cesc Fabregas the latest high profile player to join up, pushing Van Ginkel further down the pecking order.
With strong competition the 21-year-old is concerned he will fail to progress at the club due to a lack of opportunities.
And the Dutchman’s agent has now thrown down an ultimatum to Chelsea after revealing Van Ginkel will move in pursuit of regular football.
“We are in talks with Chelsea. Of course Marco wants to fight for his chance, but there must be some perspective,” Karel Jansen told AD.nl.
“We are waiting for a response from Chelsea as to how they see things.”
