The Shadow men are eaten people, which have been 'regurgitated' into lifeless slaves by unknown for the shadow queen. they have been programmed like computers, so if anything that was not in there programming happens (like someone wakes them up, someone punches them, which goes through them) they will go into a screaming panic, and go mad. to fix this, you have to get unknown to 'regurgitate' them again.
