This is a collection I have started to put together of some of my best work, and some of my not so best work. Enjoy! :D
Teinitzcan: Final Song
In the middle of the moon
Sits a fisherman.

His tilma catches the wind
Trying desperately to flee from his shoulders; to reveal the markings
A four pointed flower from his widow.

Tossing a line to the
Dead
He slumps

Pouting belly
Falling over his black belt buckle

Full with the hunger of lost things.

Nautical Perch
It’s a fast life
Down beneath the blue canopy
To stop and take a breath
May kill you.
I say, Don’t even stall
To talk to the guppy sleeping on a bus stop bench
He holds scarlet ribbons on his hands, that,
When given the chance
Will be tied around the circumference of your neck
Like a pearl necklace, straight from Hudson’s home.
And if you were to give me that chance, I may kiss you too…

If the sky goes black with oil
Don’t try to be a hero
Huge big parts of the heaven
Will soon be coming to make its daily collection.
And if you don’t wiggle your way right out of there
You will be part of that godly food chain
That won’t let you go.
And if you don’t scurry away from me,
you may find yourself back within the folds of my stomach.

My egg, I am telling you this
So that when you are born
To this dark blue world
You will be prepared for me
And a mother’s hunger can only go so far.

One
1.
This was a time before the veins
of Indigo glanced the skin of Eden
before Two was bathed beneath the stars
lacing constellations
within the gaps of fingers.

“When there was only One.”

2.
There is a spot of peppermint
growing within the skin of mahogany
fern face molded into a knot,
limber legs stretching across Valley’s
in the attempt to dip toes into the icecaps.

But the Arctic seas recede back
into their humble borrows untouched, unfelt.
3.
Let the days be counted,
in the fractions of halves to wholes.

4.
Cobalt hues were taken from the deepest
part of the Atlantic
where,
curling fingers scrapped sea salt
in the attempt to walk on calloused feet.

But liquid things cannot hold a solid hand,
as it falls right through it.

5.
Suddenly within a breath, a hand
reached down exclaiming, “Two! Two!”

6.
And Lavender looked upon blue violet
scattered in sugar,
and indeed there were, Two.
A gem of Emerald. A gem of Turquoise.

7.
And the hand exclaimed, “let them be One!”

8.
There the shores of her shoulders met the breath of his sea
and they became just, One.
