Ishy's Ramblings (Ignore most of 'em)
Blah... Everything that pops into my head goes here.
Chapter 1

I could feel the sun etching little circles in my vision, even through my sealed eyelids. The air was warm, though a hint of a cool breeze caused my skin to raise in little bumps. So many forces forcing others apart.
Dark being beaten by the sun, warmth being beaten by the cold. It was all frustrating, really. Why couldn't it be dark and warm so I could sleep.
The breeze washed over me again, and a bit of grass, or at least, I assumed and hoped it was grass, bent down by the force of it, brushed against my cheek.
And other less, comfortable areas. Which answered the question if I was clothed or not. That would be a negative. So either the wind was strong enough to rip clothes away from my entire body, or someone had stripped me. Wasn't that just delightful.
At least, between the gusts, the sun was warm.
I turned my head to the side, forcing it out of the direct sunlight, and let and arm rise to shield them as I testes my vision. There were circles, but I obviously hadn't been downright staring at the sun. Which was good. Although the stinging on my forehead reminded me of another possibility. Sunburn. Another delightful little fact.
I sighed, sitting up and covering my shame as best as I could. I was on a hill, which seemed to slope downward from a path, which was awesome because it meant few people had probably seen me. Although if anyone had, I bet they would have stopped.
Wait a second... A path? Not a road? Not even a hiking trail?
I rolled over on to my knees, keeping my head just above the ridge of the little hill. No tire tracks, just footprints and hoof prints. So maybe it was an equestrian trail. There were enough ranches around where I lived, but it was a pretty odd place to dump a body. Much less, a living body.
Spinning back around, I rested my back against the rise, pulling my knees up to my chest, which was surprisingly hard on such a seep incline. "How am I going to get out of this one without completely humiliating myself?" I asked, though I knew no one could hear me. About a hundred yards in front of my was a tree-line. And I had seen two on the other side of the T the paths made, but I rally didn't want to get up and make a break for it. I sighed again, resting my head on my knees, growling at the burning it caused. I hated sunbu-
Thud.
I paused, mid-thought. Thud was not good. Actually, I can pretty much say, I would rather hear a lot of things besides thud. I could already feel myself shaking. What I wouldn't give for at least some underwear...
Quietly, and slowly, I flipped over, resting on my knees. Once in that position, I felt safer towards the thud, but I could imagine some squirrel, or worse, dying of laughter somewhere in the trees behind me. Perverted little rodent!
I arched my back enough to raise my head over the ridge. The first I noticed was a horse, who had seen me and was stamping his foot in annoyance. The beast probably thought I was some sort of perverted little homo sapiens. Stupid horse.
The creature's owner, though, had not noticed me, and had his nose plastered firmly into a book. It seemed to be leather bound, but I wasn't absolutely sure. It looked pretty old, either way. I couldn't see much of his face, but the man's eyes had wrinkles next to them, and scanned the page furiously. I would have thought them pretty, with the shape, but the irises themselves were a dirty muddy color, and I didn't care for the shade.
And of course, my curiosity got the better of me, even in my current situation, and I slithered forward, cracking the dry grassed beneath me. The man looked up, shocked. He dropped his reading material, and both hands flew to a sword he wore at his hip.
A sword. I was pretty sure anyway...
I yelped, backing down the hill and managing to bloody up my shins and stomach before this person called out for me to wait.
He didn't seem angry, or even scary at all. The tone of his voice was more shocked then anything, and possibly guilty if I was hearing correctly. I stopped, too scared to really do anything. I had never seen a real sword before, and the fact that he had seemed to trust it so much scared me more then the weapon itself.
