Saber Fillian sat low in the rusty orange pinto, her eyes peering out the window as she watched the transaction. She had been on this case for two weeks and was already much farther ahead than the guys who had been tracking this drug lord for months. Sure, she had her own unorthodox way of accomplishing things, but so far in her five-year career, it had worked well. She had yet to be assigned a case she couldn't complete.

She was now watching a deal made between her perp and his dealer. She had agreed to drop the charges against the kid if he helped her find the dealer. Her plan was to follow the dealer back to the big man. With any luck, she could have the man in handcuffs by morning. Saber was on the case on her own, due to her own decision. She had never worked well with partners, almost even shot one once. They never agreed with her tactics, and she hated listening to the complaints and reports filed against her. Finally, she had convinced Chief to let her work most cases on her own. This one, of course, required her calling in backup once she found anything really important. Well, that was the plan. But Saber was a bit prideful, and she wanted to bring down this man on her own.

She slid lower in her seat, barely able to see over the door, as the two completed their transaction. Saber watched as the dealer left, leaving her perp standing there. She started up her pinto and waited until the black Tahoe was about a hundred yards away before slowly starting to follow it. She had no idea the trap she was walking right into.
