There was something eerie about the lab at night, or was it day? Andrew could never recall, he worked, slept and lived in the Rocket Labs. In either case, it was eerily quiet today, set aside all the beeping and computer hums. No, today is a day to remember, but Scientist Andrew doesn't know that yet.
The hallways of the Underground Rocket Labs were dank, and musky. All made of steel, or cement. It went underground for miles, and he wasn't even sure how far down they went. He only ever stayed in his corridors, or his section of the Labs. The over head lights flicked every so often, threating of power failures. But they never lost power, not with all the spare electricity they had going on, being constantly produced.
He walked along the lab tables, with a more sluggish approach than usual. It was a long day in the labs, longer than normal. He was also feeling more anxieous than normal aswell. Perhaps it was what it said on his clipboard, about how they, as a Team were closing in on the Anceint One, the Lost DNA.
That Lost DNA is slowly being hunted, and nearly 50 years after its escape from the Rocket labs, they were honing in on it.
Yes, the Pokemon Mew.
Scientist Andrew was on his way to the unfinished project of his father, Scientist Andrew Sr. He was the one who worked with Blaine, the Renown Gym leader. He Also had ties with the Professor Oak, in Pallet town, and the other Head Professors in the other 4 regions. Scientist Andrew Sr worked diligently on extracting the precious DNA inside the Anceint One, but before he was able to get enough, it vanshied, as if teleporting through time itself.
Scientist Andrew Sr lost all recognition, all status as a world renown Scientist. He now dwells On Mainland, as a simple civizllian. His son, Scientist Andrew Jr, now takes over his place in the Rocket Labs, trying to cpmlete the unfinished project that lay locked away, un -alive.
Scientist Andrew Jr was on his way to identify the Anceint One, because he had gotten word from the surface that they had caputred it. Mew was caught, with a legendary Master Ball, the best pokemon capture device, said to have never failed.
He took the main elevatore up, pondering about how he was supposted to extract the DNA from the Ancient pokemon Mew, in the first place. If his father wasn't able to do it, how was he to do it? Thhe elevator sped up, humming slightly as the motors on top shook, making the elevator box rumble slightly. Scientist Andrew Jr grabbed onto the steel rails, for safty reasons, of course.
Once the elevator slowed, he left go of the steel rail, and waited for a complete stop. Once it stopped, the doors flew open, nearly blinding Andrew Jr for a few seconds. He had forgotten how bright the sunlight was. He felt a slight, non-artificial breeze, it had been a while since he felt that, and it brought back memories of his distant past.
"Sir!" Saluted a lowly Rocket Grunt. "Sir! We have it. We have-"
"A pair of sunglasses?" ANdrew said, laughing slightly. The grunt said nothing. Andrew frowned. A sigh escaped his mouth "Mew? You have Mew?"
"Sir, Yes sir! It is here, inside the Ball that can capture any single Pokemon." The lowly Grunt handed the Pink and Purple sphere to Andrew and backed away, as if what contained inside the ball was powerful. The grunt was right to back away, as Andrew Jr wound up to summon the Ancient One.
"Mew! I summon you, come out!" Andrew called out, tossing the ball in mid air.The ball flew through the air, and shimmered in the Sunlight, catching Andrew off gaurd for a few seconds. Then, a brilliant red light shot out from the opening Ball, and spat out a small shimmering shape. It quickly took form, and Mew became slowly more and more visiable.
All eyes were on Scientist Andrew, and the Ancient One.
Mew was curled up, and had its eyes closed. It wasn't moveing. It just layed there, on the ground.
"Wh-whats wrong with it?" Scientist Andrew began to panic. "You!" he pointed at the grunt who gave him the ball, "What have you done to it! Why doesn't Mew move!?"
"Sir! Dr. Andrew, we had to weaken it, to caputre it! It hasn't been cured yet!" The grunt spoke up, almost out of line. Now, Andrew likes to think of himself as a patient man, but he wasn't looking for an answer, just someone to cure the poisoned pokemon.
"Are you daft? I know it's weakened! My point was, was why didn't YOU cure it before giving me the damned thing!?" By the time he finished speaking to the grunt, he had his hand raised, and was just about to slap him, but a sound creeped around them. But they couldn't hear it, not with their ears, of cousre.
It was a sound, in side thier heads, their minds. A soft, timid voice spoke up, almost that of a small child. But with a sophisticated tone to it. It spoke first in a different language, but it soon spoke to them in english.
"Please...Help me...Give me...Antidote...."Scientist Andrew jumped back, digging in his poket. Searching for the thing he needed, to aid the Ancient one, laying on the ground before him. But, he couldn;t find any.
"Quick! Give me an Antidote! Now!" Scientist Andrew cried out. Someone from the Rocket crowd tossed one to him, and he caught it with ease. He hurried over to the Ancient one, and began to apply the Antidote to the infected area's. Mew squirmed with dislike, but soon eased up and let the healing begin. It was in bad shape, and it needed to recover. Scientist tose up from his knees and didn't turn back to the Grunts.
"Next time, Heal the specimen before you give it to your supiriors." He had a very cold and rough tone to his voice as he walked away from the grunts. No one dared speak up.
Upon the healing, Mew was put in a Cryo-genic state, suspended in a large tube with Mew hooked up to a life-support system. Now was the time to act, Scientist Andrew needed to get at the DNA now before Mew re-grouped and teleported away again. Rushing around his lap, he needed to find his syringe, and extract the amount of DNA needed to finish what his father started, 50 years ago.
"Damn it, where is it!?" Andrew jr cursed to himself. "Why can I never find anything I ne-Ah ha!" After knocking over some lab clip boards, he found the needle buried under old failed work. Placing a beeker to The Ancient Ones cryogenic tube, he stopped.
"What if....Nah....I'm sure its poisoning is gone by now. That won't affect anything."
How wrong he was.
How blind he was. He was so determind to rebuild his tarnished name under his foolish father, that he didn't wait for Mew to recover fully. Draining the cryo tube, the gathered up the Fallen Ancient one into his arms. Its breathing was faint. I looked up into Andrews eyes, pleading with its own not to harm it further. It was almost as if Andrew could feel its pain, for a split second.
"I'm sorry, Mew, but I need to do this..." he said, sticking the needle in Mews back, taking out what he needed. Mew winced out, but didn't cry. It didn't even make a sound.
It stopped breathing.
Andrew panicked. "Oh...no...!" He gasped. Pokemon can't dye, right? Surly it just fainted...with out breathing...Andrew Jr thought to himself. He placed Mew on the metallic floor of his lab, and ran for his supply cabinet. "Revive, revive, revive. Ah!" He said, as his quick search ended abruptly. He retreived his Max Revive and began to aplly it to Mew.
Five solid minutes passed, as he was spraying a second Max Revive on the Ancient One, just for good measure. He waited inn agony. How bad would it look, if he had killed a Legendary pokemon, apon Legendary pokemon? He would be locked up, they would throw away the key. He would never see day light again-well, not that he did anyway-. As he mulled around in his head of worst cases senarios, the small pink figure in his arms started to breath again. Andrew didn`t take notice of it`s breathes, but when it started to move around again.
"Oh, thank Arceus!" Andrew sighed with relief.
"Please..." The Ancient one spoke to andrews mind again. "Please, take what you need, and release me...." Mew spoke. Its child like voice ringing inside Andrews head. Andrew did, just realiseing the syringe still stuck in Mews back. He pulled it out, bt noticed it wasn't enough. He filled his lab beaker with what he had, then stuck the needle back in Mews back. Mew cried out this time.
"Shh, little one, Almost done, almost there..." Andrew lulled. A mallicious grin spreading across his face. He plucked the needle out of mews back, and filled the rest of the beaker.
Finally. He had enough DNA to re-animate the unfinished Project.
The Project, Mew-two. Mew was hovering around, and was just about to fly awaym until Andrew pulled out the masterball.
"Where are you going?" Andrew said, in an eerie tone. Mew whirled around to face Andrew, just as he called it back into the ball. Mew didn't struggle, it didn't even cry out. Instead, it let itself get captured again. Once inside the ball, Andrew raised the pink and purple sphere to his face. "A find specimen like you will do wonders for me. I'll give you as a gift to Giovanni." Andrew smiled to the Ball, and placed it on the lab table, next to the DNA.
He picked up the needle and beaker from off the floor, and placed them at his work station. Just as he was about to get ready to begin working on the Project, his watched beeped twice. He glaced down with a slight questioning look, and realised, it was getting late. As if it was just looking at the time, he yawned instictivly, and stretched out his arms. Rubbing the back of his neck, he decided to sleep on the project. Its not like anything is going to change tomorrow, right? Right.
Tomorrow will change his life forever, in more ways than one.
'You, are like all humans I have encountered. Lost, greedy, consumed with the very thought for power. No concern for those around you. No concern for anything, but yourself. The day of reconing is apon You, and your kind. It is a shame that our kind will have to suffer as well.'
Scientists Andrews eyes popped open as he sat up right, almost falling off his bed. Panting and sweating, he reached over to his dresser to grab his watch. He hadonly been asleep for 3 hours, and he was wide awake. Maybe it was his dream. What did the voice mean when it said, 'The day of reconing is apon our kind? And that its a shame that its kind will suffer as well?' He poundered for a minute, but decided not to worry about it. And since he couldn't sleep, he also decided to start work on the DNA conversion process.
Slipping into his lab coat with out even putting a shirt on, he walked down the dank hallways, and wondered into his Lab. Reaching to turn on the light, he tripped over something. It was h the Masterball, opened, and cracked. Scientist Andrew wrinkled his brow in confusion, trying to figure out what had happened. Mew had escaped again, but this time, he wasn't as, he could just give him the finished Project. It would be 10 times stronger than Mew anyday.
Smiling about the thoughts of promotions whirling about in his head, he started work on the DNA.
(Reaserch DNA/cloning process needed here.)
(Will fill in when i have proper reaserch.)
Finally, Scientist Andrew was done. He had succeded in creating something that was more of a weapon, than a living being.
Mewtwo was copmplete. It hovered there, not moving. The Once Un-Alive being was now fully fuctional. And it was his to control. Scientist Andrew soon thought, Hey, why give this fine specimen away, when I can assume power over the Rocket Corperation? Yes, It should be me in power. I'm smarter, for one. And I have the power to do it, now that Mewtwo is complete.
Safe houses as towns, an appocolypse hits the world of Kanto, and I need pokemon to survive. pokemon and trainers alike are zombified.
Check points will be 'safe heavens' for my pokemon. Brock is first, and he's been bitten by his 'infected' pokemon. He travels with me, slowly dieing int he middle of the night, and falls, tries to kill me. 'Poisoned' pokemon are ones to watch out for.
I need 'safe cards' in order to advance to the next towns. Cerulian city is a 'safe heaven', i use brocks check point card to get it.
and so on a nd so forth.
This is really interesting.
I need 'check point cards' from gymleaders -they will no longer be called gym leaders.- in order to get to the next city's.
You never think it'll happen to you, until it does. Zombie outbreaks, I mean. Or some kind of 'infection' where the living become cannibals, and eat each other, or spread the 'infection' to carriers to become Infected. You see it all the time in the blockbuster movies. One person gets sick, bites a few stupid doctors and nurses, they bite a few dyeing patients, its spreads from 'ground zero' to one place, then soon, your whole world is covered in a mass of flesh eating infected bastards.
My story started out the same, no one was excepting it to come all the way to Pallet Town. Now, I'm here stuck in the elite four safe zone grounds, as the Kanto Army holds back the infected beasts and trainers. Lance is right up there, with his dragonite holding the demented souls back. the rest of the elite four tend to the trainers who've obtained Trainer BadgeCards. There isn't many, maybe 25, 30 trainers? All of them, including me have lost their homes, loved ones, and pokemon alike. Me? I'm just glad i was able to escape. They say Johto is locking off its borders and warning the other Reigons of Kanto's massive Infection outbreak. I hope Profeesor Oak, and Mom are okay. They said they would see me here. I havent seen them yet.
-9 monthes earlier-
"Gary! Would you stop!? Gawd! you can be such a jerk sometimes, you know that?!"
"Oh calm down Ry, your such a baby." Gary. ********. Oak. The smug a*****e is waiting for his very first pokemon today. I pushed Gary aside and slapped his hands away from me.
I'm even lucky to be here, considering my shy condition. It was my mom who first talked me into getting my first pokemon. I said I didn't want to go out and 'adventure'. i just wanted to stay home and become a home maker, like she was. But even she went on an adventure, but she never completed the task of getting all of Kanto's Gym Badges.
The Three Pokeballs sat on a *****, shining, and inviting.
"Oh man! I can't wait to see what I get! I hope I get a fire type! Fires AWESOME!" Gary shook with anticipation. I just sighed and glanced down at my feet. We waited for a while, maybe about 20 minutes, until Professor Oaks aid came in, looking a bit frantic.
"O-okay guys, Professor Oak can't be here to give you each the speach on the how-to-be-a-trainer today. So I'm authorized to give you your first pokemon..." we looked at him, with his sweaty brow, and he noticed the growing concern on both our faces. He replied to our concern with a weak forced looking smile of his own.
"Well, if Gramps says its okay, sure!" He was about to snag a pokeball, but Professor Oaks aid stopped him.
"Gary! Don't be so rude! Ladies first." He pulled Gary aside from the shining red and white spheres, and motioned for me to take one. I shrugged my shoulders.
"Okay....I'll take....This one."
I grabbed the one farthest from me, and held it tight. I have to admit, I was a bit excited about making a new friend. Pallet Town had so little to offer. A small smile crept arcoss my face.
"Tch, what ever. Your pokemon's gonna be all lame, and mines gonna kick a**!" As usual, Gary was being his smug old self. I shot him a frown, and he grabbed the opposit one I had. Befor I could sneak away, he held on to the sphere which contained his permanit partner, and called it out.
"Lets see who's got the best one!" I glared at Gary, and copied his movments.
"Come on out pokemon!" I said aloud.
As the lighting dimed around our pokemon,I looked apon mine.
It was an orange little salamander. It had a flame apon its tail and had huge eyes. It looked at me, and smiled.
"AW CRAP! You got the fire one! Hey, Gramps's aid! i don't want a water type! Water types are for girls and sissies!"
I looked over at Gary's random choice, and it was a small turtle/squirrel. It was really cute, but I really liked mine.
"Now now Gary, you know the rules. Once your pokemon has seen you, you are parterns for life. No backsies." Oaks Aid shook a finger a him, and he grunted with disgust. He put away his pokemon and started to walk out. "What ever, i'll train this little guy and make him strong. Smell ya later." He waved his hand to us, and slammed the door shut.
"Yikes, what a princess." I looked down at my pokemon.
"Di-did you just speak?" I said, shocked that I had forgotten it could speak.
"Yeah, and are you gonna give me a name? I don't just wanna be Charmander for the rest of my life. Gimmie something cool!"
I smiled nervously. "Okay, how about....Enzo?"
He paused to think for a moment. "Sounds alright. Who do I call you?" he said, flashing a toothy grin my way.
"Me? Oh, I'm your trainer, Ryleigh. or just Ry, if you prefer."
"Well Ryleigh, are you ready? Adventuring awaits!"
