Well, today is my birthday... the big 40!!!
No one is around so it is just me and Jasmine celebrating, which is not so bad, at least she is not old enough to rub it in. rofl By the way, on Christmas Eve Jenn told us we can adopt Jasmine!!! YEAH!
Now for the bad luck, well, I seem to be having some bad luck lately, my van (yea, it's old and has high miles, but I love it) has been in 2 accidents with in 2 weeks that I did not cause. First one was when a mailbox jumped out in front of Jenn while she was on her way to work... Not a bad one, minor denting and scratching, but a new windshield was needed ASAP... Now last night, I was driving home from Costco and Home Depot, I was stopped in a line up of traffic when the woman driving a pickup hit us hard from behind... if that was not bad enough, a full size plumbing van hit her from behind so we got hit again... kinda like an aftershock. Yes, the first thing I did was go a little crazy, do you blame me, I had Jasmine in the van with me... I checked her out, she was all ok (remember, I was a paramedic, I'm qualified for this job rolleyes ) and the cop that stopped checked her out also, she just smiled and laughed for him and he was checking her... Then I went to look at the back of the van and got angry. I was doing just what I should on the road... STOP WITH PLENTY OF ROOM FROM THE PERSON IN FRONT OF YOU!!! But there always has to be the idiots on the road that do not understand the concept of paying attention while driving. Just by looking at it I know the insurance company will total the van... The back doors are jammed in about 3 inches and crushed quite bad, the bumper is squished so bad that it cracked lengthwise. I'm so glad we were in the van, with as hard as we were hit, if we were in a little car, the trunk would have been in Jasmine's carseat with her. The damage was so bad that the frame of the van twisted, the dash popped out, the sliding door does not meet anymore, the passenger door requires a lot of push to get it to latch and there is a bend in the metal on the driver side of the van. Besides the damage to the van, I had picked up 2 cans of paint along with food and stuff from Costco... The cans of paint exploded in the back of the van... destroying all the food and my new Dean Koontz book. gonk I was lucky enough to have Tinie and Nathan in the area close enough to come and help pull out some of the paint mess, because the smell in the van was pretty toxic and I didn't want Jasmine to ride home with the smell that bad. Well, happy birthday to me...
