A young man parted ways with his lover, she had just recently realized her feelings for him, after he spent years yearning for her affections, he had finally attained them. He smiled as he walked down the dark street, the few streetlamps that were lit, suddenly went out. He stopped cold as he looked ahead, a soft orange and red glow coming from a nearby alleyway caught his eye. He shifted nervously.
"Who's there?" A figure stepped out of the alleyway and she smiled, her fangs glistening in the pale moonlight.
"Hello, Sosuke. How've you been the last few weeks? Enjoying the company of your new 'friend' I hope." Sosuke swallowed hard.
"What do you want from me demon? I already signed the contract...I'm safe until--" She laughed and threw her head back her fiery hair clashed with her flaming wings and created a burst of light.
"Safe until what?!" She shook her head, and smirked. Then she walked up to Sosuke and stepped behind him, wrapping her arms around him. She leaned on his shoulder and pulled the collar of her coat down and whispered in his ear.
"You aren't safe from anything... My master gave you the love of the woman you desired, in exchange for your eternal soul." He nodded, and tried to pull out of her grasp but she hung on.
"Let me go!" The demon grasped him harder and placed a gloved had around his neck.
"But I'm not done talking yet, Sosuke." She smirked as she felt his throat tighten under her fingers. "You promised my master your soul, in exchange for her love. You needn't worry, I'm simply here on an errand. To deliver a letter..." She held the note in front of his face and loosened her grip on his throat.
Gasping Sosuke leaned forward and grabbed the note. After catching his breath he stood back up and opened the parchment note. It read
Sosuke,
I gave you what you asked for, now it's time that I get what I was promised.

Sosuke's eyes opened wide with shook and he spun around just in time to see the demon girl unsheathe a katana.
"No! I just got her... You can't take me now!" The girl laughed.
"But Sosuke, you never said how long you wanted to be with her... Master has decided that your time is up, and his payment is due." Sosuke shook uncontrollably.
"Wh... Who are you?" She smirked, as she raised her blade.
"They call me the Hellfire Messenger..." She brought the blade down, and Sosuke's limp body fell to the ground.
She reached out and grabbed the spirit that had risen from his body and held it up to the little cat demon, who promptly ate it, and sighed contentedly, and resting back on her shoulder.
The Messenger reached in her pocket and took out a pair of sunglasses and put them on. Then a small ring of purple smoke appeared around her feet and she began to disappear from the mortal world.
She whispered as she faded, "Let's go home Onimaru..." The cat nodded and they disappeared into the stillness of the night.
