I bought Gorillaz DVDs “Celebrity Takedown” and “Slowboat to Hades”. Excellent. I recommend them to any Gorillaz fan or inquirer, plus any of my female (or gay) friends out there who love perverted men. Lots of extras and interviews are available.
I support the band more than ever because of their work in these DVDs, but the recently released book “Rise of the Ogre” REALLY made me appreciate them. The art is spectacular, mind shattering, and beautiful.
In both the DVDs and the book, Murdoc hogs the limelight and glory, but that makes it all the more entertaining. Buying these was the second best decision I’ve ever made. Look at it this way: I’m Christian, and I’m supporting an animated band led by a devout Satanist, whom I love. It’s THAT good.
The movie (based on the band’s history and birth) is allegedly coming out next year, and I sincerely hope that whoever reads this will join me and the other 15 million buyers of their CDs in watching the calamity unfold.
