Wow...It's been a long time since I just sat and wrote what's happened to me.
Last June we had to move from Camp Pendleton, California to Great Lakes, Illinois. From a Marine Corps base to a Naval base. On the way to Illinois we stopped in Las Vegas, Nevada to see our mom's sister who was also spending some time there with some friends. (Surprising she got on a plane! XD ) Our first day there, our dad, Edward and I got to walk around The Strip. We went to see the M&M movie again and got some Coke in glass bottles. Our mom and aunt had gone shopping somewhere and had the car. Then when we got back to the Tropicana, the hotel we were staying at, we went swimming. My favourite hotel to go into was the Exalibur and New York, New York where our aunt was staying wich is also one of the most expensive. The next day we got to go to the Hilton for the Star Trek Experience, but that cost too much so we hung in the main part of it. Then we went to play the Podracer game as we were leaving. The last day we were there (or maybe it was the night before I don't remember) we saw the water show at the Belagio. It was awsome. The way they get the water to move in time with the music. We saw it three times with a different song for each. One of them I'm glad we saw was "Proud To Be An American". When we got to the Naval base we stayed up really late. Mostly because we were still used to California time. While looking for houses we were thinking, "These things are so tiny! XP " which, they really are. We looked at two houses and decided to stay in one in Forrestal Village so our dad can just walk to work. For the 4th of July weekend we went to visit our cousins in Flat Rock just south of Detroit, Michigan. We got to shoot off our own fireworks which was really fun. My favourites were some of the boxed ones that our uncle got and ones that spun around shooting sparks when you lit them. During the day our dad and Edward put firecrackers in soda cans and lit them. Our dad's didn't do anything extrodinary, but the bottom to Edward's came completely off and we couldn't find it. After we messed around with the firecrackers and some bottlerockets we played some croquet. Everyone can hit hard except me! XP We stayed up past midnight that night having a ton of fun. The next time we went for a visit was in November for Thanksgiving. Our dad, Aunt Jesse, Uncle Jeff, and Unle Robert all went to see a game, (I forget which sport) while the rest of us stayed at the house. It wasn't quite as fun as July. Except when we went to one of the malls in Detroit and played in Game Works. I had a lot of fun with the DDR game. That was the first time I ever played it in public. For Christmas we went down to Oklahoma City to visit our grandparents on our dad's side. It was quite a small Christmas because they spend nearly as much money as our grandmother on mom's side, but that's all right. At least they don't get us little kids' toys like our other grandmother does. We got to keep Dixie as one of our presents. On Christmas Eve we went to the midnight Mass. I like that one. In my opinion I think it's the best Mass. I bet if we had gone to one of the Churches in Chicago it would have been even cooler. When we got home Edward and I got some presents for Epiphany. Our parents said that instead of the four of us exchanging presents on Christmas, they're going to give us three each on Epiphany since that's when Jesus was given the gifts from the kings. I got a cookie scented candle as a symbol of frankinsense while Edward got something else. (I forget what.) For a symbol of gold we got $100 from the tax return and for myrrh, since they didn't know what to do for spice they got us one of the DDR games. For my birthday we went bowling. I knew what two of my presents were, but they surprised me with a third one. One was a Yuu Yuu Hakusho CD. The next one I opened was a manga book, Clamp School Detectives. And the last one was the book Eldest. And I haven't even read Eragon yet! My favourite song on the CD would probably have to be Tasogare ni se wo Mukete (I think that's the name) or the last one to which I can't remember the name to at all. Around that time is when I started to really get into learning Japanese. I learned a few kanji and was just learning about hiragana and the history of the whole language. Shortly after my birthday, we had to go to Norfolk, Virginia because our mom's aunt died. We didn't stay long enough to see the funeral though. Aunt Cathy (who was in Vegas the year before) bought us some books while we were there. She got me one on Samurai, one on learning kanji, and one on learning kana. When we got home I started using the kana book and learned and remembered all of the hiragana in three hours and most of the katakana in three hours. In May I went to a dance class that taught how to do English Square dancing and Country Line dancing. I know what you're thinking. Line dacning?! Yes line dancing. It was actually rather fun. Both dances were, but the one that was the most fun was the line dance that some of the students taught the rest of us. Yeah, students taught the rest of us how to do a country line dance. lol It was really fun. I can still remember how to do it too because the music was so long. You just had to keep doing the same thing until the music stopped. I also remember one of the square dances, but just vaguely. For Independece Day this year we saw the fireworks on base. It was one of the best displays I've seen that I can remember! It was awesome! We were all sitting in a field just in front of a building. They had part of it blocked off and you really couldn't see why at first. They shot them off of the building as well as some of those ones in a box like I saw last year for right in front of the building in the field! They had a ton of new ones this year. Some of my favourites are ones that look sort of like fairies flying around in all directions, the ones that look like branches of weeping willows, the ones that sound like rain when they fall, and the screamers that don't go very high. One of the new ones I liked is kinda of hard to explain what they looked like and what happened, but it was cool. One thing that suprised me was that everyone imediatly got up to leave after it was over. Nobody stayed to chat with friends or wait for the traffic to die down. They all just up and left. Getting off base was a pain though. All three entrances were packed. Either that or they only used the main entrance. The funny thing is, our dad is in the Marine Corps and kept saying "It's the Navy, of course it's not going to be good." Boy was he wrong. lol Our cousin Andrea is going to college next year and has to do a video on something. (I don't really have all the details because our parents don't like to tell us things.) So they are coming to stay at our house for a few days. For about a month we have to clean the entire house, which is actually pretty small, and keep it clean. I have to rearrange my room so that both of them can sleep in there because it's the only room that has enough space for them. Instead of the couch being downstairs it is up in my room. Good thing I have a loft bed. So one of us sleeps on the bed, one on the couch, and one on Edward's futon. Now I am so tired from moving everything yet I'm not done! Oh well. We still have a few weeks before they come. Saturday, Dixie was attacked by a European German Shepard. That thing scared the heck out of all three of us. It just suddenly came up and started biting at her. We didn't even relize she was really hurt until a few hours later. T.T She's got two wounds near her neck which bled. When we tried to clean her she tried to pull away. Poor thing. We don't know what to do now.
