A bunch of lore and other things
Hounds (Fauna)
Average Lifespan: 50 to 60 years

Running Speed: 40 to 45 MPH (around 64 KM)

Height: 3.5 to 4.5 feet (1.1 to 1.4 meters)

Weight: 200-220 lbs

Hounds are a dangerous predator in the wild. They resemble pigs but with larger bodies, snouts, and jaws. They also appear extremely demonic and will occasionally sound like dogs, which is ironic because they will often target dogs and wolves. No one exactly knows where they come from, although there's a rumor that they emerged from the underworld before they spawned in the wild elsewhere. Either way, one must never approach it with extreme recklessness, especially when they attack in a group. They are often seen clashing with other larger predators such as lions, mammoths, tigers, rhinos, cheetahs, hyenas, jaguars, leopards, and even elephants.

They are shown to be extremely unrelenting, even going as far as killing and devouring harmless animals such as dogs, chickens, and even small cats as well as an innocent baby if they come across one---they cannot be tamed no matter what. Their teeth are shown to be extremely powerful, capable enough of tearing down wooden fences, yet they seem to be no match for walls made of concrete or even bricks.

Because hounds are very dangerous, they have a very good sense of sight, hearing, and smell, often capable of detecting any living being as far as 70 miles away. Once they detect a potential victim, they will seize the chance to overwhelm and kill said prey within minutes or even seconds.

Multiple variations of hounds can be seen: Dark ones (normal), hellhounds (bright red), ice hounds (pale white), toxic (purple), and steelhounds (silver platings). The dark ones are the most common hounds in the group, often serving as the main "animal infantry and lookouts". They have averge health and resistance but have intense jaw strength. Hellhounds, or firehounds, adapt in the summer and will release fire when killed. They seem to have a higher physical resistance but run a few miles slower than common, regular hounds---a single hellhound can only last for a week in even a harsh winter before they succumb. Ice hounds adapt in the winter and are ten miles faster than regular hounds, but their jaws are slightly less sharp. They release icy shards when killed, injuring anyone who kills it carelessly close up. Toxic hounds are physically smaller in size and their jaws are even weaker than ice hounds, but their fangs carry a really deadly poison that can kill their victim within minutes. So far, no cure has been found against hound toxins. Finally, steelhounds are physically large than any of the other hounds but are somewhat slower in general while their fangs/jaws are average strength. While they can still eat other beings, they tend to eat anything metal.

Except for toxic and steelhounds, the normal, fire, and ice ones are proven to be edible, but their flesh is nevertheless confirmed to be a health hazard even when cooked throughly. One must always remove the brain and its various sacs/glands as they can be quite fatal to the human stomach. Hound meat is required to be hung and dry for at least four hours in order to weaken the effects of life-threatening food poisoning. Once that's done, it must also be either kept out in the sun for it to warm up or be preserved frozen depending on the hounds; hellhounds must be preserved in cold temperatures while icehounds have to be warmed up. Regardless, hound meat can be washed in some kind of sauce to finally remove the harmful effects of food poisoning before they can be throughly cooked and seasoned with other kinds of sauces. (Boiling the meat in tomato juice/soup or even wine should do the trick, increasing the chances of safely eating it even if it's slightly raw)

Chupracabric hounds are hybrids consisting of part hounds, part chupracabras. In a rare instance, a small group of chupracabras have mated with a group of hounds to preserve their species despite these animals normally trying to attack and kill each other on sight. Because of this, these kinds of hounds have emerged. They're depicted as ordinary chupracabras but with darker skin and fur and their visible spines are slightly pointier along with having sharper teeth, shorter ears, and extremely bloodshot eyes. They mostly kill by sinking their teeth in their prey before draining their blood completely within seconds, if not a full minute or two. A shocking fact is that these are the only kinds of hounds that can actually be tamed by humans and therefore be trained to fight with them to protect other humans from various predators---one must feed them enough pieces of meat for them to be fully pacified but should a human turn on it with violence, they will not hesitate to mercilessly fight back and kill said owner. Ironically, they're not seen as pets due to their horrifying natures; hounds and chupracabras are often the enemies of humans, especially when they mated to produce these kinds of hounds.
