he died on the first boss. emotion_awesome that giant darkside heartless thingy at the end of the TUTORIAL.
buuuuuuuuut apparently it doesn't really "count" if u can't beat it cuz the game just goes on anyway.

lolololol u know he's gonna kick u BUT THERE'S NOTHING U CAN DO ABOUT IT rofl so hard to avoid that omggggggg rofl it's part of the story that riku knocks ur butt all over the place at the beginning so when ppl do playthrus and show off and make it look easy to beat him they're actually tossing out an important part of the story. ur supposed to lose to him cuz the game is trying to show u that he's stronger than everyone else on the island, including sora.
the score against riku was 0 to 10 by the time we quit for the day. emotion_awesome;;;;;;
there is an interesting little bit in the game, where riku gives sora a paupu fruit and tells him that if two ppl share one their destinies will become intertwined and they'll remain a part of each others' lives no matter what. he says "i know u wanna try it" as he walks off and sora gets all embarrassed and tosses it away before chasing after him.
the next day, riku tells sora their raft doesnt have a name. riku wants to name it Highwind, and asks sora what he would name it. the default is Excalibur. we put in Highwind to see if it would change what happens in the game but the result stays exactly the same and then it's kinda hilarious.
anyway, the idea is that sora picked something else, and riku suggests they settle it with a race. just before the start sora says "if i win, i'm captain, and uh, if u win..." and riku says "i get to share the paupu with kairi" and sora's liek WAT and riku's like 'deal? the winner shares a paupu with kairi." and then u race him.
it doesn't matter if u beat him or not. afterward he says 'ok, we're naming the raft highwind" and sora gets mad.
if u do win, then there's an interesting thing, where riku names the raft whatever he wants anyway so sora is mad because riku ignored his victory, either because they didnt' name the raft excalibur, OR mad because riku said the winner could share a paupu with kairi but since he didn't win he changed the rules after the race was done, meaning sora doesn't get to share one with kairi, which is why he goes off and draws one on the wall for her instead in the following scene.
but if u lose, like i always do, then well, sora's just mad cuz he lost. HOWEVER. riku said, IF HE WON, he'd share the paupu fruit with kairi, but AFTER HE ACTUALLY WINS, he assumes the right to name the raft instead. if u go talk to him, he says "what? the paupu thing? that was just a joke. you should have seen your face." and asks sora to race him again. if u decline then he says "are u upset or something? it was only a joke."
so if you win, then riku is pulling a "well if i can't have her neither can u" kind of thing, but if u lose, then riku never intended to follow through with what he said and he actually really was joking. gaia_kittenstar either way tho, riku's not letting sora get kairi. u can say that's cuz he wants kairi for himself, imma say it's cuz he wants sora roflheart

made it to traverse town final score against riku was 1 to 12 sweatdrop nothing of note happened except that I *ahem* I beat him on the obstacle course. gaia_kittenstar he gave me a pretty stone emotion_kirakira *cherishes it forever*
i am so dying to see what the story would have been if riku had been just 2% less a*****e and moved JUST A FEW FREAKING INCHES to reach sora's hand when darkness ate the islands. either sora would have been taken with him to hollow bastian, or when the keyblade brought sora back out of the darkness it would have brought riku out with him. stare either way, they would have stayed together, riku wouldn't have had to turn for maleficent for help, and....... yeh i guess he prolly still woulda got jealous over donald and goofy and went off on his own and... well riku's just an a** in kh1 to be honest rofl if all the bad stuff hadn't happened to him and made him shape up he prolly never would have became my favoritest character *mooches on his purty face*
but omg afterward tho! emotion_kirakiraheart it was fun to play with him on the islands and just see them having fun together, altho i think if the game had done a better job showing how close they were instead of making riku look like a d**k and sora focusing most of his attention on kairi, the parts where they fight later would have had a bigger impact. after playing/seeing all the other games and realizing how much they really care about each other, seeing them oppose each other in kh1 over stupid things is sad. but then i wonder, maybe they didnt come to care about each other so much until after kh1, and thats why they dont do much together in the beginning.
i would like to see something post kh2 where they are just playing together again without all the srs stuff happening.
i like when u fight him and he says "what are u afraid of" cuz he's teasing sora for being a wimp ( lol riku hits hard so when he says that i'm like "YOU!!! D8" ) but also it kinda sounds like "u idiot u know i wouldn't really hurt u" wheeheartuntil later when i'm corrupted by darkness and trying to kill ur face. fooooooreshadowinggggggg!

so kairi's kh2 shoes are in the shoe shop in traverse town in kh1 but riku's crappy camera was like "THE COLOR PINK DOES NOT EXIST, SHAT UP" so just take my word for it.
