Idea: Hex vs. The Internet Hex is a blogger trying to prove the internet wrong - adorably awkward and hopeful, I hope this is at least a bit close to what you're looking for darling!

~.~.~.~.~

“Aaaand – done!” Sitting back in his computer chair Hex looked over the post one last time. He had taken the better part of two hours to choose the best photos, find the right words and arrange the post perfectly. He had gotten some excellent shots and, though nervous about the reception, felt ready to show them off.

No spelling errors..grammar looks good... Tongue sticking out the rightmost corner of his mouth Hex took a breath, brought the mouse over the 'post' button and let it hover. Three, two, one-

Click.

Letting his breath out Hex took another to calm his nerves, rising quickly from his seat and nearly causing it to fall over as his tail had wound around the slender base. He'd waited for a day he would need to go out on purpose; otherwise the green-tinged being would end up inches from his monitor, hitting the 'refresh' button over and over, waiting with knots in his stomach for comments.

Checking the time Hex swore, pausing long enough to grab his keys and wallet and peep in the mirror. The store he wanted to go to closed early and if he lingered much longer he would miss the cut-off.

With a final glance at his computer Hex took his leave, leaving his phone where it was charging beside his bed. If he took it with him he would be tempted to just keep refreshing and obsessing and he wasn't going to do that. Not this time. No, he would go to the shop, pick up the latest comic of the series that he was following and then do some food shopping before returning. That should be more than enough time for a couple of bloggers to see his post and comment with praise and awe.

~.~.~.~.~

“Fake.”

“This is obviously shopped.”

“Dude, if you're going to lie, at least make it believable...”

Hex stared at his monitor, scrolling through the comments. Not only had he gotten comments on his post; he'd gotten near to three-dozen, all of them ranging from disbelief to skeptical to downright hostile. When he reached the last, left by 'b10wm3n0w' and had more swear words and horrible spelling than Hex had ever seen in a single comment he swallowed, a tightness in his throat. “It's not,” he whispered, blinking back the stinging of his eyes. “They're not fake. The proof is right here!”

Rolling his chair closer Hex clicked the 'reply' button to the last comment, fingers flying over the keys. “If you looked past your own ignorance and actually at the pictures I took-” Hex shook his head, deleted it. “Hey, B10w, I know it's hard to believe but if you got your head out of your own as-” Delete, delete. “What can I do to prove to you this is true?”

Sitting back Hex scrubbed a hand over his face, head falling back. When he sat up to look at the screen another there was yet another comment, also negative though not nearly as rude as the prior. Hex chewed at his lower lip, careful not to poke himself in the cheek with the pointed teeth protruding from his jaw. What could he say, that would be believed? What would he do to prove that he was telling the truth and that they need to believe him?

Leaving the comments area Hex looked back at his post, trying to see it from a stranger's eyes. The first was a selfie, taken in the Canadian forest with a hair-covered creature that could only be Sasquatch fishing in the background. Hex had to be tricky about that one as the creature had an aversion to photography but he had managed. Below it was the story of how the photo came to be, oozing with barely-contained excitement.

The second was one he'd taken two years prior, of Nessie on the shore of Loch Ness, It was taken at quite a distance as Hex hadn't known how she would react to his getting too close and he didn't want to startle her into leaving; not that it mattered, as something had startled her shortly after he'd taken the photo and she retreated back into the water. It was zoomed in, slightly grainy but definitely that of a long-necked creature, curved as delicately as any swan. There was a blurb on how the photo came to be as well, though not as long as the Sasquatch one.

The last was a video was another taken at a distance though with reason; Hex had gone far into the Canadian north and managed to record a video of a large, ominous creature covered in course white fur, charging after the ski doo that he had been on with his guide. It was shaky, what with his guide zipping around snow banks and flying over mounds but one could make out the scarily fast-moving beast blowing through the snow after them, bigger than a polar bear and standing up on two legs when it became obvious they wouldn't be caught. The video ended with a chest-quivering bellow heard over the engine of the ski doo, Hex's own yelp and his guide's constant swearing, the background shuddering whiteness.

Hex looked it all over, going back up to his latest photo taken a week prior. Sasquatch is much nicer than his northern cousin, he mused with a sigh, continuing to chew at his lower lip. There were some people who had argued over his use of 'Sasquatch' versus 'Bigfoot' and he thought about arguing back that since that was the Canadian name and the photo was taken in Canada it was only appropriate but what was the point when no one believed him in the first place?

Now that the initial upset was over, Hex was just left with a aching, bone-deep weariness. What was the point in doing all of traveling, the hunting, seeking the truth if people threw it back in his face? If he brought someone they would be called a liar, too. Hell, two-dozen people could be at the same place, take the same photo from two-dozen different angles and they would STILL be called fake and liars.

Releasing his now-swollen lip from his teeth Hex huffed. “Whatever. It's pointless, then.” Without letting himself think on it the bi-colored being moved his mouse, clicking the 'delete post' button and confirming it with an angry snap of the 'enter' key.

There could be a day sometime, years from now, where he'll get video and photos that people will actually take at face value and people will actually believe what's right in front of them. Hex would simply have to keep hunting and hoping that the next one will be the one to make the world sit up and listen.

For now, though, there was a container of ice cream and a comic with his name on it.
