Midnight Keyboard Rescue I was just a few hours away from finishing the Gaia Deals page when it happened again. My wireless keyboard ran out of battery. My keyboard is actually a "solar powered" keyboard, and it works great if you use the keyboard in an open area, it'll keep the battery fully charged. HOWEVER, I use my keyboard in a keyboard drawer, and during winter there's too little sunlight to keep it going. The keyboard uses a watch battery which is a pain to replace. I needed to get back to work right away, so grabbed my Dremel tool with a circular saw and got to work: 20 minutes later, I slapped on a giant battery on the keyboard, and my keyboard is working perfectly again. Except that it got hit with an ugly stick. But I don't care the least bit. These large batteries will last more than a year and I have plenty spare batteries on standby. (I use them for flashlights when walking Strider) 5 hours later, I'm finally finished. We should be launching the deals page along with an announcement upgrade that should get rid of all the cash shop updates and keep the community announcements to the top. Can't wait!

Found the deals page (wasn't hard to find) rofl . It looks great, though I was expecting much smaller designs for each deal so you can look at a glance. With all of the limited quantity or limited time sales, this page could be very long. It looks great, though, and I look forward to not having five of the same announcement each day.

Huh... Not a bad idea about the Gaia Daily Deal idea. However, I am curious how does it "downside" the amount of announcement we are given. I mean, we do get announcement whenever new items appear in the Cash Shop.

Or are you talking about announcement that keeps repeating itself multiple times per day? If that's the one you're talking about, that would be great.

Sounds like you hit the final straw with the keyboard but if it works then rock on.

The deals look nice and should really help the user buy items so thanks for the new page

(just a tiny aesthetic note: I'd center the white deal bubbles to make sure they're directly under the "daily deals" header. it looks a little off-kilter on my 17" screen. The sub-headers can stay where they are though.)

Hi Lanzer,

great idea for the deals page.

As for additional income via LK I think it's time the glowing shards are re-released. Then make new strong kins which are splicable from spliced kins.

Example: Lustrous Pumpae is actually weaker than Pumpae. but you make a kin that is stronger than Pumpae which is from 2 Lustrous Pumpae.

That way Gaian's will have to buy a splicing shard twice.

It may sound evil but I think it's effective in keeping the profit sustainable

Please tell me we'll be seeing more of the color palette on the deals page, it looks fantastic whee

Nitpicky detail: I would want the "Daily Deals" header to align with the borders of the deal boxes, either left or right (or better yet, centered entirely). Based on the image it looks like the header is off-center and it's weird.

Hmm.. The deals page lost the links to the announcement. Without the links, there isn't sufficient information about what each deal is (ie a re-release rig or a hair recolor rig, etc.)

I cringed thinking about the warranty, but that's a savage and effective keyboard change.

As to the deals bear, perhaps it could switch between colors, either related to the types of deals going on or just to signify a new deal going up. It can be easy to ignore stuff up in the header that has the same color/animation often.

It might be due to me using Gaia Upgrade &/or BetterGaia, and if so, not sure what to do D:

Hacking your keyboard, now that's dedication. Don't think of it as as "ugly stick" think of it as a testimonial to your ingenuity. 3nodding Seriously Lanzer, other people would probably have just been done for the day and got a new keyboard , but you just don't quit! Love having you back-and SO grateful you are getting GC/CS notices OFF Announcements- but don't burn yourself out. (Unless you can hook yourself up to one of those batteries.....hmm...)

looks bootyful!

i love the pop's of pink you threw in there. Usually our pop's of color are purple are blue lol, the pink is very eye catching without being overwhelming
