In 2016, did you…
Fall in love with someone that was just a friend?: I'm married, so, no.
Lose any friends?: Na, people came and left at work, but noone I was especially close to.
Make any new friends?: I guess I met a couple of new people at work. Siobhan and Darryl, they're nice. Nicole's okay. Oh, and Cameron's cool. He's a geek so we have plenty to chat about.
Make any new enemies?: I don't really bother making enemies, so na.
Do anything you regret?: I can't really think of anything. Maybe small decisions at work that backfired, but those are unavoidable sometimes. But, this year was fairly uneventful mostly.
Go to any parties?: A few fun social events: my own birthday in November involved fireworks and Jackbox, Nerida's birthday was fun: we went to an Indian restaurant for dinner and then played Heads Up outside around a fire. Jess's birthday was fun: Spice Girls themed party so I dressed up as baby spice and Taina as Scary spice.
Accomplish anything?: Not much, na. Things at work continued as normal. I managed to pay off debts though.
Make much money?: Some, for sure. Even put some money into savings, which I hadn't been able to do for a few years now. Still, now Taina is not getting student loan money over the Summer holidays, and we've had expenses due to Christmas and stuff, money's getting tight again.
Attend a wedding?: Despite last year's flurry of weddings, I don't think I actually had any weddings to go to this year.
Attend a funeral?: My great-aunt Meryl died early in the year, so we went up to Auckland for her funeral. Noone else though.
Get any new family members?: Yes, my brother-in-law Shyro and his partner Carol had a baby in October, my new nephew River.
Get into a verbal fight?: I think so. None that stand out though, so nothing major.
Get into a physical fight?: I'm not silly enough to try that. I reckon a 6 year old could kick my a**.
Attend any sporting events? Actually yeah. Jess invited me and Taina over to watch an All Blacks match on TV a few months ago. We actually went. It was nice just to hang out, and eat snacks and chat. Learned a little bit about rugby though.
Get arrested?: Na. I didn't do anything THAT exciting.
Wreck your car?: No. Someone in the carpark near work reckoned I scraped the side of his car when I came to park that day. Found out when Dad got contacted by the insurance about it. I don't even remember anything like that happening though.
Make any big purchases?: Well, just after Christmas last year, our old fridge/freezer died, for no known reason. No repair places were open around Christmas and New Year to check it, so we ended up getting a new one. Cost a lot, took most of the year to pay off. But so good, much bigger than our old one, can store way more food now, so we have a lot more dinner options open to us now.
Learn anything?: I learned that you really can't predict things that are going to happen. So you need to make the most of the time you have and not take it for granted.
Dump your bf/gf?: I'm married, so no.
Get dumped by your bf/gf?: I'm married, so no.
Develop any new health problems?: No, just usual hayfever. One or two colds. That's about it.
Change as a person?: I wouldn't say I changed much. I now am a bit more determined to pursue my goals of trying to have kids, seeing as a) the recent earthquakes made me aware that anything can happen at any time, and b) recently getting pregnant and having a miscarriage have given me some more knowledge about the subject.
Get any new piercings?: Na.
Get any new tattoos?: Nope.
Attend a concert?: No, saved money this year and didn't do anything exciting like that.
Start to resent something or someone that you used to like?: I don't think so. Had some ups and downs with my opinions on Amanda at work. Just because she tends to have mood swings.
In 2016, how many….
Different places did you work?: Specsavers Cuba Street. A couple of times I went down to our Lambton Quay branch to learn the new Genesys computer system though.
Times did you go out drinking?: Not much. I had one or two drinks whenever I went to a social occasion, like Jess's birthday party, or my work christmas party.
Times did you smoke marijuana?: Not at all.
Drugs did you take?: I took Nurofen occasionally.
Times did you go to the movies?: Quite a few. Saw a mix of movies this year: the new Star Wars movie Rogue One, also Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, The Danish Girl, Deadpool, Doctor Strange.
People did you make out with?: Just Taina.
People asked you out?: Noone.
Times did you get your a** kicked?: Like literally? Because who does that?
Crushes did you have?: If I do develop crushes, I tend to ignore them. I have a husband.
In 2016, what was….
Your favorite day of the year?: That's hard to pick. Maybe the week in January I had time off work, we stayed at a hotel in Wellington, just for fun, and did some cool stuff. But not sure what specific day.
Your favorite band?: I got really into The Royal Concept this year. Also discovered Misterwives and a few others.
Your least favorite day of the year?: The Night of the earthquake, and the day after it.
Your favorite movie?: That would be Fantastic Beasts. I knew it would be my favourite even before I saw it.
Your favorite song of the year?: Possibly a tie between Fashion, and On Our Way, both songs by The Royal Concept.
Something that didn’t change at all this year?: Just about everything didn't change. My job, my house, my friends, my family.
Your favorite holiday?: Christmas. No matter what year this was, the answer would be the same.
Misc. questions about 2016
Were you in a hospital this year?: No.
Were you in an ambulance this year?: No.
Did you make any big confessions in ‘16?: Nothing is coming to mind, so no.
What’s the best thing to happen to you this year? Paying off debt, and saving money.

Did you bring sexy back this year?: Was my back not already sexy to begin with?
Was 2016 a great year, an average year or a bad year?: Average, at times bordering on bad, but mostly just average.
2016
Stayed single almost the whole year? No. Not for any of the year. Were involved in something you’ll never forget? I don't think so. Nothing that exciting. Tripped over a coffee table? 2016: Your BIRTHDAY!

Nice idea, but I don't actually like tequila. Did you get what you wished for last year? Last year I was mostly concerned with paying off debt, so I did that, all myself.
2016: All about YOU
Did you change at all this year? Don't think so. Did you change your style? Not at all. Were you in school? No. Haven't been for a number of years now. Did you get good grades? No, because I wasn't studying. Taina got through his classes okay though. Did you drive? Yes, like every day. Did you own a car? My same old blue Toyota Starlet, which technically Dad still owns. Did anyone close to you give birth? Just Shyro and Carol. Did you go on any vacations? I went on a 'holiday' into Wellington in January with Taina. Then I went up to Auckland over Easter with Dad to see a Shakespeare play at the pop-up Globe. Would you change anything about yourself now? I'd like to get fitter and healthier, partly because that might make the getting pregnant thing easier. Did you dye your hair? No. I have actually never dyed my hair in my whole life.
2016: Wrap UP:
Was 2016 a good year? It was okay. Do you think 2017 will top 2016? I'm hopeful, I think it is too much the same I'll go crazy with boredom. Best thing that happened in 2016? No one thing especially stands out. I guess just the money thing.
IN THE YEAR 2016 I CONFESS THAT I….
Kissed in the snow? In the parking lot? at the beach ? in secret ? Not that I can think. Although the beach is the most likely, given I live right by the beach. Had your heart broken? Nope. Painted a picture? No. Not that into painting. Wrote a poem? No. Ran a mile? No. Probably walked further than that though. Visited a foreign country? No, not this year. Cut in a line of waiting people? I don't think I did. Told someone you were busy when you weren’t? I don't remember doing anything like that. Cooked a disastrous meal? No. But I didn't cook much. Taina does most of our cooking these days, which I greatly appreciate. Lied about how old you were? No. Occasionally I forget I'm 31 and say I'm 30. But I'm not in denial. Cried yourself to sleep? Don't think so.

Broke a promise? No. Lied? Not that I recall, but probably one or two small things. Disappointed someone close? I can't think of anything. Hid a secret? No. Pretended to be happy? Yes, a lot. Slept under the stars? No. I get cold too easily. Plus in the place we live, we have no yard. So it makes it harder. Met someone who changed your life? Not in any major way, but everyone you meet changes something in some way. Changed your outlook on life? Just recently yes. Hopefully in time I start to relax and go back to normal, because being anxious about earthquakes and other huge disasters is tiring. Sat home all day doing nothing? Yes. Too often. Lost something expensive? I don't think so. Learned something new about yourself? Just that I am good at worrying a lot. But I sorta knew that already. Tried something you normally wouldn’t try and liked it? A few new Tea flavours. Made a change in your life? Started trying to have a baby. Found out who your true friends were? I guess. Got to see Jess a bit more this year, so that's nice. Met great people? Yeah I suppose. Stayed up til sunrise? No Cried over the silliest thing? Sometimes. Had friends who were drifting away from you? Dunno, maybe. Spent most of your money on food? Yeah, but hard not to with Taina around. Gotten sick? Yeah. Stupid cold/flu. Liked more than 5 people at the same time? Well that's just crazy. Became closer with a lot of people? A couple
