My Fear Of Public Showers

In the day, boys would generally shower after gym class. I an unsure if that is still the norm these days but I spent four years of Comfy I subsequently ran into the ocean and swam. It without ever once setting foot in the lads public showers Even on hot muggy days after grueling gym sessions, the temptation of a refreshing shower never crossed my mind. The largest reason why I refused to use the high-school facilities was the terrible experiences I saw other students had.

There were cases where the teenaged boys would &steal& clothes or ridicule other lads. The poor pupils who suffered this intimidation didn't look pleased to be on the receiving end of someone's prank.

As I grew older, my fear of using the public shower never went away. I decided to join a health club since I was gaining an excessive amount of weight and also this time I knew there was no preventing the shower room.

Naked Writing And Poetry - As a River Flows said you had to shower before entering the pool area. After a grueling work out, all I wanted to do was jump into the Jacuzzi and allow the hot water melt away the aches and pains. So I made a conscious decisions to face my fear.

Using the public showers was one of my biggest fears

My very first time getting naked and using the shower was extremely odd for me. Personal Account About Body Image and Eating Disorders felt so uneasy taking my clothes off in front of a group of strange guys. The only reason I was able to muster up the courage was seeing how the other guys seemed so comfortable being naked. I really observed two nude guys talking about their plans for the weekend and the fact they were both nude did not seem to faze them.

Sadly, over the years that I worked out in this gym, I never grew this comfortable with social nudity. But I 'm happy to say no one stole my clothes nor was I subjected to any bullying. In fact, nothing out of the ordinary actually occurred in the shower room. It became something of a routine. I might take off my clothing, shower, get redressed and go on about my business like ordinary.

I learned a valuable lesson from this encounter. I learned that I should never avoid something only because I felt uneasy by it. Sometimes you simply have to go with the stream and more often than not nothing bad may happen.

Who knows, perhaps one day I could wrap my head around the naked freedom that many naturists experience each day! But for now, nudism appears to be a bit of jump. That said one never knows!
