As the oldest Baby Boomers switch 70 this year, the new reminder that America’s population is ageing like never before.

Boomers hitting 70 and their counterparts from prior generations are prone to what’s come to be known as elder abuse.

I’m not talking about financial fraud or an individual taking advantage of a senior citizen in a business perception, I’m talking about physical abuse and forget about.

These are the distinguishing signs that usually suggest some form of elder maltreatment is taking place.

■ Physical injuries rapid If you’ve noticed large bruises on the face, neck, forearms or even back, some form of actual physical harm has probably taken place. Broken bones, cuts or uses up are also indicators that will someone is harming your loved one.

■ Hygiene changes - In the event you’ve noticed the drop in the everyday upkeep of your cherished one’s personal visual appeal and surroundings, that’s worth looking into.

■ Unexpected weight loss or weight gain.

■ Unwillingness to talk to friends or loved ones or the avoidance of particular topics.

■ Revulsion from the person’s standard activities not explained by McClain County mugshots .
