Kid animal lovers will enjoy Sundown Safari at the Dallas Zoo (6500 S. R.L. Thornton Freeway) Oct. 17 through the 18, 6:30 to 9 p.m. The cost is $20.00. The education department is conducting the evening safari tour which lets attendees get up close and personal with some of the animals.

Another thing you can do is get plain white t-shirts and have each girl sign the other's shirt with ink that won't wash off. You can do the same with caps.

Flower Child: A flower child face is a pretty face! And you don't need much of a costume to go with it. Just dress your child in a long flowy dress for a retro look (not so long that she trips on it) and she's ready to go!

Roswell High School: Roswell celebrates the Fourth with live entertainment by Big Biscuit and Banks & Shane. A children's carnival and inflatable activities are available for a nominal fee. It all begins at 5:30 p.m. on Thurs., July 4, at Roswell High School. Click here for more info.

Centennial Olympic Park: The fireworks shoot off at dark (around 9:30 p.m.), but live music and activities keep the whole family entertained throughout the evening. Park gates open at 6 p.m. Visitors can relax on the great lawn and kids may play in the fountains to cool off. Free musical entertainment begins at 6 p.m. The fireworks finale is the star performer, with a spectacular display that's synchronized to patriotic and popular music. This family friendly event is free and open to the public, so get there early for a prime spot on the lawn. Because thousands of people attend this annual event in downtown Atlanta, MARTA is strongly recommended for transportation. For more information, follow this link.

The annual Buffalo St. Patrick's Day Parade will take place on Sunday, March 18, 2007, starting in Niagara Square and proceeding down Delaware Avenue. Green is the customary color to wear for the parade, though it might be wise to dress for the weather, since Buffalo has seen more than a few St. Patrick's Day snowstorms in the past.

Teddy Bears - If someone "beary" special is turning two, then this is a good choice. You can have a teddy bear tea, picnic or parade. Have each guest bring a stuffed animal friend. Every child's bear can win a prize: one for the fuzziest, another for the cutest, most cuddly, biggest or smallest. Don't forget to serve the Teddy Grahams.

The Phoenix Zoo is the place to be Saturday, May 7, for the Phoenix Arthritis Walk. This is a great way to show your support and the entire family can join in the walk. The zoo is the perfect place for this event and after your walk, enjoy the park and all the animals. There will be a DJ, a Kids Zone with fun games and face painting. The walk is 1.1 mile around the zoo. If you participate in the walk, you will get free admission to the zoo for the rest of the day. What a win-win opportunity to help the Phoenix Arthritis Walk and visit one of the best zoos in the country.

Decatur parade, concert and fireworks. The City of Decatur kicks off the 4th of July at 6 p.m. with a Pied Piper Parade, to be followed by a concert on the square at 7 p.m. by Callanwolde Concert Band. Fireworks light up the night sky at 9 p.m. For more information, visit the city's website.
