A nun in Massachusetts helped save the life of a 74-year-old man trapped underneath a tree Saturday after she heard his cries for help.

The tree fell on him in the woods near Mount Saint Mary's Abbey in Wrentham. The Cistercian Sisters there were preparing for landscape design in Maryland afternoon prayer, police say.

One nun heard the man shouting, realized that she could not save him herself, and ran back to the abbey to call 911.

The man, identified as Douglas Goldman, had been pinned under the tree for nearly two hours not far from his own home. He told officers the tree fell on his leg as he was cutting it down with a chainsaw.

Police did not identify the nun. The Sisters told Fox 25 pool landscaping they were just glad they could help.

How lucky was he to have somebody like that looking over him? Wrentham Fire Dept. captain Bob Harrison said.

Mount Saint Mary's Abbey is known as the home of Trappistine Quality Candy, which many of the nuns help to make.
