LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT THIS ANIME *casually watches the ENTIRE season two in one night and is up until 5am* Kamisama Hajimemashita is in my top five animes. This show is incredible! Geez, it was perfect in so many ways. God, I can not stop loving this anime. Nanami Momozono is a high school girl whose father left her, making her homeless. She stumbles upon a man named Mikage, who is actually a God of the Mikage Shrine, Nanami helps him out, and Mikage gives her the mark of the God, forcing Nanami to become the new God of the Mikage shrine. There at the shrine, she meets Tomoe, the DEVILISHLY HANDSOME, Inuyasha/Soushi impersonator fox Yokai (Demon), who was Mikage's familiar. Previously a wild fox demon, Tomoe has a harsh nature towards humans, and is completely reluctant to become Nanami's familiar. Nanami finds out that the key to making Tomoe become her familiar is to kiss him, which she completely rejects. Later, when measures are drastic, Namami kisses Tomoe, forcing him to become her familiar. This anime is a mashup between Zero No Tsukaima and Inuyasha, I love it. Anyways, more characters come into play-- Kurama the Tengu (Crow demon (?)), MIZUKI MY BABY, who eventually forces himself to become Nanami's familiar by kissing her while she was unconscious, Otohiko the wind God, who is really Mettaton with orange hair, and many, many, many more. Nanami, the Human God has adventures with her two perfectly attractive and cinnamon-bun familiars, such as going to Mount Kurama, where all the Tengu's live, under the sea, into the Neverworld, and to a diving assembly with every single God in existence. Throughout these 26 episodes of this perfect anime, Nanami develops feelings for Tomoe, and Tomoe does the same for Nanami. They really are so cute together! Together with the pristine and perfect humor, excellent touch of romance, cliche-anime drama, lots of jealous animal Yokai, an AWESOME opening from season 1, and a tad of fighting, Kamisama Hajimemashita is practically my favorite anime (don't tell the rom-com 90's animes). The anime is so addicting and charming. People you see being awful in the beginning somehow turn it around and do the right thing. Kirihito was my favorite example; my heart was SO WARM when Kirihito did the thing (no spoilers). If there was a team Tomoe and a team Mizuki, I would jump on that Mizuki train in an instant. Just saying. It is 4:55am right now and I am not regretting a single thing about what I have been doing for the past five hours. Kamisama gets ten Tomoe ears out of ten. *drops mic* g'night animuu.
