Teach Yourself How to Learn Guitar
Learn Guitar, the easy wayLearn the first basic major chords that will get you started

So you are ready to pick up the guitar and start learning again?

I have met a lot of people in my life that tell me that they want to learn how to play the guitar, and I am assuming your are one of those people which is why this article has led you here. I myself have a passion for playing the guitar and I am completely 100% self taught, I've never taken a class on the subject in my life. It is so completely rewarding in my opinion that I recommend you take action right away!

What is the best way to get yourself started?

So I thought I would write this article mainly to share my experience and love for playing and what you should do first to get you started, because the truth is once you learn these major chords and practice switching between them it becomes not only accomplishing but extremely satisfying and fun to hear yourself play the chords correctly.

Now when I first learned my mom gave me a VHS tape, yep, that's right and on it was a nerdy looking guy named Larry Little, once I got past his nerdy appearance and payed attention I learned very quickly these major guitar chords, these are the core of what I first learned about how to play guitar for beginners and had I not started out with these I can assure you my interest and practice would not have spiked, which they did. You can show off to your friends something you learned on the first day of your learning, yes I believe that completely so pick up the guitar!Steps

When anyone, learns something they need steps or "Bite Sized" chunks to chew, they need explanation and instruction for each bite. This is not a complete guide but it will get you started.

1. Learn these major chords

Now, these may look confusing to most of you that aren't familiar with learning guitar. but they are absolutely key to starting yourself on the right foot. They are a lot simpler to learn than they look and there is a link to a book that will teach them to you in this article (below keep reading)

2. Learn to switch playing them

Once learned, you're going to want to teach yourself to switch between them, just get creative and practice to see which ones sounds good after another.

3. Decide what genre you would like to go for

I myself love playing anything from metal, to blues. It is important that you get a feel for playing different genres so that you may pursue that genre and really grow to play the best learn guitar that you can as well as receive a reward for your efforts, the reward being the extreme gratification you get from getting better and hearing the amazing sounds you produce. Now the rest of the steps I am working on at my website, I will have the link on here soon. as far as what kind of guitars are good for starting out I recommend starting with Yamaha guitars, especially if it is acoustic, they are sturdy and have the richest sound in my opinion. Once you are ready to start playing I recommend this book : Guitar Mastery Simplified: How Anyone Can Quickly Become a Strumming, Chords, and Lead Guitar Ninja

I have heard that the illustrations of the chords in the book are a bit too small, but I have had no trouble reading it. This book has helped a lot of people and most who have bought this book say that the author keeps it light and simple and at the same time lets you know that learning all kinds of styles like classical guitar take time to learn, which is great because that's what a beginner learning how to play the guitar needs to know as well, that no matter what step you are on with your playing, its going to take time and practice. No one can learn something overnight, well, maybe, but not in the case of learning the guitar!!

An ending note

I love inspiring people learn guitar back up and even if you don't learn a lot just pick it up and play something I don't care if it's half an hour a day, at least you practiced and are that much better! Its going to help if you have a genuine passion for playing like I do it will be your drive for learning, the more beautiful sounds that you produce the more rewarding your practice sessions will be. Thank you for reading and I really hope this inspired you to get started!!
