Traditional health beliefs and practices among selected populations are presented along with the influences of social, political, and demographic changes impacting issues and perceptions of health and illness in a multi-cultural society. This course introduces students to basic definitions and classifications of non-allopathic complementary and alternative health systems. The interface among community and public health services and the overall health care industry is explored.
