Burlington Homeowner Irate at Local HVAC Company - Canada buzz
By Paul Fitzgerald

All Michael Hall wanted for his home was a new air conditioning unit, furnace and water heater.

Sure enough, he met a sales representative with a local HVAC company who sold him on a "Rent and Relax" package that offered the equipment he wanted.

Hall was told that the company offered the best in equipment, customer service, and the technicians were beyond reliable - caring in every sense.

However, Hall, a homeowner in Burlington, ON, is shaking his head over the decision he made to rent from the company six months ago. In fact, since last December his life, as he describes it, has been nothing but headache.

That company is Reliance Home Comfort. Hall now calls his "Rent and Relax" plan that costs just shy of $200.00 per month over seven years more like a "frustrated and stressed" one - and that's an understatement.

"This company has caused me nothing but stress," says Hall during an interview at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zFC2h68YyMA all home buyers that they should do their homework before buying a house that has rental equipment in it from a supplier.

"There have been problems with trying to buy for a client a house with a rented furnace, while it is still on contract with the supplier. The problem is if the seller does not pay off the furnace, and the buyer takes it over, they can be stuck with payments for a long time. Also there will be a lien on the house until it's been paid off. So with a lien on the house and you want to renew a mortgage, you have to pay off the rental furnace from the supplier first which can be thousands of dollars So, 'Buyer Beware.'"

While Reliance has been contacted on three occasions, they have not yet provided the media with comment on Hall's matter.

Hall indicates that he will continue to fight to have all his equipment removed from his home and get his money back.

"I just want everything gone and my money returned," he says.

"I signed the contract and bargained in good faith. They have not followed their end of the bargain and everyone needs to know just how they conduct business. For them your money comes first and you come last. Shame on them for not living up to their promises, and shame on them for taking advantage of hard working people who have saved up to own their own homes."
