It was such a sad morning when I was having my breakfast and I saw this sparrow hurtling towards the skylight window and fall down just behind where I was sitting.It must have came in and not seeing the ceiling fan flew into it.It just sat their with its heart thumping like a million heart-beats.As I bend down to have a close look it flew away on top of our tube-light.I was relieved thinking the bird must be alright if it can still fly also I saw no visible wounds.But few minutes afterwards when it stopped moving and was absolutely still I again went to have a close look and was aghast that it was dead.

Sparrows which vanished five years back from Lucknow returned back when we again started having colder winters and they built nest on our Bathroom Sky-light window.Such a thing had never happened before.Now I keep all my windows and doors closed if ceiling fan is on.

Soon I discovered it was the parent bird teaching its chick to fly.For there was this little baby sparrow hiding behind a pack of Biscuits.It flew from here to there and hovered around our Dining Room then flew into our kitchen.I just left it there leaving the window open for it to fly away.Soon I heard fluttering of wings and saw it flying threw the Kitchen window towards its Nest where the other parent was sitting twittering anxiously.Not knowing where its partner had disappeared the sparrow and its chicks went on twittering madly throughout the day.
