The younger of a man's two sons asked his father for his inheritance. He then set off to a faraway country where he squandered his inheritance in riotous living. With no money left, he soon had to accept work tending pigs. He was so hungry that he could have eaten the husks he fed to the pigs.
It is best to be moving or, at least, sitting up when listening to an a course in miracles audio. During recovery right after my vitrectomy, when I had to keep my head down, it was very difficult to stay awake while listening. Even a great a course in miracles audio can lull a person to sleep. It is really annoying to wake with a start and try to figure out where you drifted off. I would sometimes replay an entire chapter, only to discover that I had missed just one sentence.
It is the purpose of the Course to lead our minds out of preconceived beliefs and ideas which hinder or better yet blind us to our innate Being. It is a course in mind training, a course in distinguishing causes and not effects. When we give power to effects, which is the outside of things, we are powerless to make changes in our circumstances. By focusing our attention on cause we become co-creators and are more a course in miracles audio with our natural abilities.
So whatever way the Holy Spirit shows up, it will be the best way for each individual person. The Holy Spirit does not only speak perfect English like in acim. The Holy Spirit will talk to you in whatever language works the best for you. If it's Pig Latin, then it's Pig Latin. It doesn't matter what it is, what matters is that the Holy Spirit is communicating with us. If it didn't, we'd never be able to find our way out of here, but because it does, whether it shows up as Arten and Pursah, or the Virgin Mary, it doesn't really matter. All that matters is that we're being communicated to by the Holy Spirit in such a way that we can be led home.
Could it be that each brother is a fragmented portion of your own split mind? Your brother would then be your Holy Companion. They are you and all of us are really one. To see them as a brother is knowledge, atonement, and an end to separation.
Jesus was an ideal example of the type of love. If this weren't true about judgment, then God could not exist and neither would you. Wouldn't it be amazing to have more buddies? Wouldn't uncool to be healthy?
