Ambassadors see mixed reactions from Bikefest attendees
Allen Parrish flagged down the two ladies in bright orange T-shirts, the ones that mentioned "community ambassador" on the back.

He desired to provide them with an item of his mind.

A day earlier, the actual 48-year-old Georgia biker had seen yet another ambassador welcoming Bikefest attendees because they strolled your sidewalks regarding Ocean Boulevard within Myrtle Beach. Using all the added police, barricades along with new targeted traffic patterns this year, your greetings felt hollow.

"It's being a slap inside the face," Parrish mentioned Saturday after speaking with most the volunteers for more than half an hour. "It's like somebody saying, 'You can't do something, but have a wonderful day.' It's just like somebody saying, 'I'm going to whoop you, but it is likely to damage me a lot more than it's going to damage you.' That's what it taught me to end up being able to be feel like."

Responses in order to Myrtle Beach's ambassadors ranged from those, such as Parrish, who are frustrated with the extra police as well as new Bikefest control tactics, to those appreciative of the particular warm words in the volunteers.

And as for your traffic congestion?

"It may certainly not be as fast while they want," Weston said. "But a minimal of they'll end up being around the move."

Another ambassador, Tim Burgess, hopes your volunteers may help adjust a few involving the rally goers' perceptions.

"The visual appeal might appear as if they are usually not welcome," he said. "We want to create all of them really feel welcome."
