Steve Jobs and Apple held a press conference today to talk about the Iphone 4 and its antenna issues. Many people have complained about a death grip that causes the Iphone 4 to drop calls. Steve Jobs acknowledge the problem, and decided to issue free cases to help with the death grip.
Jobs said that he wanted Apple customers to be happy, but stressed that antenna problems like this affect many smart phones. Apple also says that they will be giving full refunds to people who are still not satisfied in 30 days.
"We're not perfect, phones aren't perfect. But we want to make all our users happy," Jobs said.
The announcement will satisfy some customers, but many were expecting an actual fix, and not just a cover.
The announcement will restore a little bit of good faith in the company however. Apple has started to get a bad reputation in the customer service department, and it is good to see them show a little bit of kindness. Even if it works out in their best interests.
CNET reports that people who have already bought a case, can get a refund for the case. Apple says that it is hiring a third party to manufacture cases, so that everyone can have one in a short amount of time.
