How to Select the Best Acne Scar Treatment
How does one go about choosing the most effective acne scar removal procedure? There are quite a few choices available from natural treatments you can apply at home to laser and other surgical methods. We'll be looking at a few of the more promising choices you can make to remove, or reduce, your acne scarring. Are you really serious about reducing or removing your acne scarring? First you need to find out which type of scarring you have and then you will know the correct treatment.

Acne scarring comes in distinct patterns and, to help us know which types of scars we have, experts have classed the scars and given them names. By far the most common scars left by acne are called Icepick scars, due to their distinct appearance as punctures made by an icepick. Treating icepick scars is difficult because they tend to be very deep.

A more shallow scar pattern is called the boxcar scar. These tend to have an oval or round shape and sharp edges. Rolling scars are those that appear wavelike, or rolling, on the skin. There are other acne scar patterns also, but these are the most common. Each one responds best to a specific type of treatment.

If you need a way to conceal your acne scars, do what a lot of people do - cover them with makeup. This is obviously only a temporary solution, and one that has to be constantly done again and again, but it can be an effective measure until you're able to find a permanent cure. Some scars are intense and can't be treated with any method; however, most acne scarring can at least be reduced or even removed altogether.

Not everyone's acne scars will go away with home remedies and, unfortunately, people with severe scarring that require surgical intervention cannot always afford this type of treatment. While you're waiting to be able to afford a surgical procedure to remove your acne scars, consider using a high-quality makeup product to conceal your problem. Mineral makeup is often the best kind for this purpose, as it has a natural looking appearance and is usually gentle on your skin.

A lot of natural remedies exist that are known to help heal acne scars and are easy to find. One very effective natural healing agent is Aloe Vera, which comes from the leaves of a cactus plant. This product - which can be bought as a gel or a liquid - is a very effective for treating acne scarring. Don't simply buy some cream or lotion that contain a little Aloe Vera. Buy the pure gel or juice. It's easily found in pharmacies and in stores like WalMart or K-Mart. Another product that can help heal acne scars is fresh lemon juice. Apply the fresh lemon juice to your acne scars in the morning and evening. Leave it on for about 15 minutes and then rinse it off. Tea Tree Oil (melaleuca alternifolia) is famous for its healing properties. A fresh outbreak of acne, as well as scarring, can both be helped to heal by applying Tea Tree Oil.

Acne scar treatments are important in that they can help you feel better about yourself if you're self conscious about how you look. You are most likely more critical of your appearance when you have acne scarring than other people are. However, acne scar treatments that will heal your scars are always a good idea. The above acne scar treatments are a few of the possibilities you may want to try to help solve this problem.
