It is not uncommon to lose track of why you wanted to lose weight in the first place. The first few steps of your journey may have been easy, but you soon find yourself on rockier terrain. What's the best way to motivate yourself from the drive of all those around you? What are they doing to stay on top of things?
Think about what you really want to accomplish, what goals you have, and then you are ready to begin. Is there a specific function that you are trying to lose weight for? Is there a specific weight loss goal you want to achieve? Is the reason for your weight loss medical in nature or something else, such as energy or fitness? These are the types of things that you need to really think about.
Keep a weight loss journal listing your progress. Only record your weight one time per week. Don't weigh yourself too often, or you'll get discouraged with the less than impressive progress. Always try to write down everything that you consume in a food journal Write about the things you drink and include snacks as well. Writing down what you consume can sometimes stop you from making poor diet decisions.

If you let yourself get hungry you could make bad eating choices. It is hard to control what you are eating when you are really hungry. Decide what you will eat ahead of time and bring healthy snacks with you to consume when you are hungry. Make your lunch from home and bring it with you whenever you can. This is as good for your budget as it is for your diet.
