Cadillac has shown complete details of its own all- new main limo ahead of its Ny motor show world debut tomorrow, guaranteeing better frame characteristics than competitors such as the Mercedes-Benz S-Class and BMW 7-Series.
Pitched as a "diver's auto", the CT6 is based on a brand new GM platform named Omega and features aluminium body panels and metal die castings in its lower-body, which Cadillac claims offers the big rear-drive four-door nimble handling along with a comfortable ride.
Significantly, the CT6 also comes with an on demand all-wheel-drive program - standard on V-6 models - that uses a continuously varying clutch to distribute power.
It features 13 "high-pressure aluminum casts" that Cadillac claims produce a lighter, stiffer structure as well as a "bank vault" silent cabin, and also a five-link independent rear suspension system applying several outer ball joints and cross braces.
Riding on an 3106mm wheelbase, it measures 5184mm long, 1879millimeter wide and 1472millimeter high, and Cadillac claims the kerb weight of the CT6 is going to be less than 1700kg.
