The Myth of Leadership Development
Developing leaders is an important strategic action for most organizations that are big as well as a multi-million dollar industry for training businesses, advisers and universities. But if we 've got the meaning of leadership wrong, much of the investment could be wasted. There are at least 3 issues with current leadership theory:

1. Leaders are described as occupying positions of power over others which means that you can not show direction until you are in charge of folks.

2. The concept that leadership is a learnable skill set cultivates the belief that you just can not be a leader without training.

Redefining Leadership's Benefits

The primary advantage is making it clear that all workers can be leaders and that, to do so, you don't want all the skills associated with being in charge of individuals. You simply desire a great thought and also the courage to defend it. Further possible benefits include better motivation and engagement of employees, more initiation and front line ownership, talent retention that is better and less pressure on senior executives to show all of the leadership a complex organization needs.

Why Make the Shift?

Direction is founded on power the power of character to command a group.
