So there's a lot to green screen photography, but I'd say the best way to figure it out is by actually doing it. That said, I would first find a portable green screen or painting a wall with chroma key paint.
Because the dark areas on the green screen are too close in colour to the dark areas of your subject it may be hard to key them out cleanly. As for the lighting, the main thing you want to make sure is that your green screen is EVENLY lit otherwise you will have issues keying it out afterwards. The more space you have, the greater distance you have to pull go here your subject away from the green screen, eliminating shadows.

I've shot in front of the green screen at the news station where I work (which was obviously a little better lit than your set up), and I've never been able to pull a key in Final Cut with that kind of precision.
