This is me right now
I am NOT a LMT
Today I made donuts for a co-worker about to go on medical leave as a nice sweet treat. I posted on my Facebook (and tagging said co-worker) that the donuts were being made and will be in today. A very good friend of mine, posts that she like some too... and a massage (she is expecting a baby next month.)

You know what really grinds my gears? Being asked as an esthetician to do massages.

Let me clarify the difference between a licensed esthetician and a licensed massage therapist.

1.) Estheticans are not massage therapists.
We are pretty much artistically rubbing product into your skin for better product penetration and stimulate the muscles. Yes, we can do it just as well as a massage therapists but we are limited to the face, neck, little shoulders, the back, forearms and hands.

Massage therapists do the whole body and target the needs of the client. Focusing on areas on which the client says is stiff, needs work, etc. They also have a little reflexology training as well.

2.) My license does not permit me to do so.
Unless it is part of a service to offer a small 10 minute massage to make you relax. The main focus of an esthetician is the skin whereas the focus of a massage therapist is the muscles. If I perform outside of my license and screw something up, I can risk losing my license.

3.) Both of us get annoyed when you ask the vice versa.
I work with two massage therapists who have had clients ask about their skin. I have had people as me for massages when I focus on skin and makeup.

It's annoying. Stop asking us.

/end rant.
