Two of the injured passengers had been taken to a hospital by private vehicle when firefighters arrived at the crash scene, Derderian said.
An 18-year-old Altadena man is accused of being drunk when he crashed a car in Pasadena late Thursday, killing a 17-year-old passenger and injuring three others, police said.
