Social Multiequivalence: Money as Decentralization
Next on our list is KITT from Knight Rider. KITT, Knight Industries Three Thousand, is a sporty 1982 Pontiac Trans Am and has an artificially intelligent computer installed that allows it to help Michael Knight (David Hasselhoff) fight crime. KITT (William Daniels) has a special body armor that protects it from just about any type of firearm and can resist extreme heat. The super computer on wheels of course could talk, but not only that, he was fluent in Spanish and French, and even has a variety of different accents. This really was the best car ever for any human crime fighter since it could talk, smell, hear, could examine the area, had an array of weapons, had different modes like silent mode, and of course he could still function as a regular car. Pardon me, an awesome car.

The conventional wisdom for moviegoers is that if they want to see a compelling film with top-notch actors and a great script, they have to shell out money to go to a movie theater. Before the mid-1960s, this was absolutely true, because a theater was pretty much the only place to see a movie since home video did not exist like it does today. Now, with cable channels and the major networks vying for ratings, made-for-TV movies are a big deal, with some excellent films forgoing movie theaters entirely in favor of television-only airings.

"Brian's Song" is an emotional, touching film that should turn up on any list of the best television movies. It stars James Caan in a career-making role as Brian Piccolo, a talented running back who gets drafted by the Chicago Bears at the same time as his college teammate and best friend Gale Sayers (Billy Dee Williams). The two men go through life by each other's side, always aiding each other when it is needed most. The bond is tested when Brian is told he has a very deadly and aggressive form of cancer that could put an end to his life. It is a tearjerker of a movie that was so good it got a subsequent release into movie theaters but not before airing on ABC.

Angelina Jolie is known the world over because of her prodigious acting talent that she has displayed in dozens of movies. It is easy to forget that before she made it big on the silver screen, she was a struggling actor who finally hit the big time with a showy role in a TV film. She played the lead in "Gia," an HBO biopic about the late model Gia Carangi, who had a whirlwind rise to the top of the fashion world before her drug addiction and fragile mental health led to her death at an early age. Jolie won major awards and accolades for the film, which has been released on DVD to take advantage of Jolie's fan base, which has grown considerably since "Gia" first aired in 1998.

Most of the best made-for-TV movies are dramas, but "Don't Be Afraid of the Dark" broke that streak in 1973 with a horror film so good that it was remade years later by horror auteur Guillermo del Toro. Lig tv izle
