Unlocked GSM Cell Phones
Several GSM phones are dedicatedly built for specific service providers. So a person may land up in a situation, where he/she wants to use a certain phone but not the network provider that comes bundled with it. In such a case he/she has to make a compromise either by subscribing to the unwanted service provider or buying some other phone.

But then there is a key for every lock and a crack for every code. So if you are a victim of any of the above situations, you need not worry as locked cell phones can be unlocked. In fact we have at our disposal several services, many of them available online, which offer to unlock just about any phone for a small fee. Many such sites also sell unlocked phones which you can use with any service provider that suits you and change them according to your wishes.

CDMA known as Code Division Multiple Access and GSM known as Global System for Mobile Communications are the two common modes of communication technologies used by mobile phones manufactured these days. The demand for GSM mobile phones has always been higher due to its greater advantages over the CDMA handsets. However, CDMA although less popular, continues to be used by people these days because the range of facilities provided by both are almost the same. Nowadays cell phone manufacturers have come up with dual sim smartphones that offer the facility of both CDMA and GSM services which can be of advantage to many users these days. This has also helped reduce parities between the GSM and CDMA mobiles making it easier for consumers to choose.

CDMA service providers of the past: The common telecom operators like Reliance, BSNL, MTNL, and Tata Indicom have all been known to have popularised the CDMA handset connections with collaborations made with reputed mobile manufacturers like Motorola, Nokia and Samsung. CDMA handsets gained popularity because of the economical services it offered and the reduced price rates at which handsets were made available to the consumers.

Popularity of GSM handsets: In spite of higher calling rates, GSM mobile phones continue to rule the mobile phone market owing to various additional advantages and features that users can avail of. This includes the ability to use the handsets on international roaming and function on a more stable source of network connectivity. This does not mean that CDMA handsets are not used at all; they still continue to be used among many urban consumers even in the present day. The variety of handsets that you can choose from in case of GSM services would not be the same if you want a CDMA connection. Features like EDGE and GPRS are also available on GSM handsets only.
