She opened the door of her apartment and like a flash of lightning, she ran as quickly down the stairs of the building as humanly possible. She reached the ground floor and slowed her pace. She walked past Larry the overnight guard sat at reception giving him a smile. He nodded returning the smile and said "Good evening miss, it's pouring it down. You might one to take an umbrella with you." As she reached the doors ready to exit she turned to the guard and replied "thanks, Larry." When she got outside she walked down the five steps to the building and lifted her head up to the sky. She kept her eyes closed and the raindrops gently landed on her face. The rain was pouring, yet it was such fine rain you couldn't hardly feel it. She moved her head, now facing forward she started to walk in a straight line not looking at the road she was about to walk out on to. She was to busy glaring at an empty bench over in the park across from her, hardly visible because of the darkness that had fellow over the city as the sun had set several hours ago. She could see the bench, her mind and eyes focused on that one spot as she then stepped out onto the road.
BEEEEEEEEP!!!!!
All of a sudden she felt herself been grabbed and pulled towards the sidewalk. Before she could blink and process the moment she heard Larry the overnight guard say with panic in his voice "M...Miss, are you ok? You, you, you almost got hit by that truck!" She looked at him dazed and then collapsed into him. Larry was a very muscular man. He worked out quite often and was training to be a firefighter. He was only 23 but quite tall and broad. He wrapped his arms around her and held her for a few minutes, before the realisation of the rain hitting them kicked in, he put her arm around his neck and grabbed her legs and carried her back into the building and into the escalator. He was waiting for her to say something while the elevator was traveling to the 4th floor where her apartment is located, but, she just sobbed quietly into his chest. The elevator opened and he walked to apartment 4b, the door was a jar, so he just walked right in with her still in his arms.
