Pest Control Advice That'll Help You Clean Your Home
As a homeowner, one of the most annoying problem you may encounter is pests. Pests come in many forms. They can be ants, flies or rodents. Some of them, like termites, can even damage your home. Do some of the following to get the pests out.

Make sure you understand applicable codes and regulations regarding pest control methods. You do not want to use harmful chemicals that contaminate your home and make it hard to sell in the future. That is rare, but it should make you research which products are successful and allowed.

Consider using a perimeter spray outside your home to keep bugs at bay. Cover your home's foundation, porch, steps and spaces near windows and doors. As you spray, watch for cracks that can provide entry for pests. Caulk these areas immediately so that pests have no way into your home.

If you have rats and mice and wish to plant new trees, don't plant them very close to the building. Rodents can easily find a way into your house by climbing these trees hanging over the roof. Plant trees at a minimum of 15 feet from your the house.

Mint can help in the battle against mice in the home. Line the perimeter of your home with mint plants. This will make the environment inhospitable to mice. If you've got mice, sprinkle some mint leaves near the affected areas. This usually repels mice, but you must always use fresh mint leaves.

When you plant bushes around your house, be sure to leave 12 inches of clearance. All sorts of insects will make their home in this brush, no matter what you do. If bushes are near your windows or any other point of entrance, bugs will come off the bushes into your house.

Is your home invaded by rodents? A crucial thing to do is look at the outside sections of your house to determine what cracks may exist that would allow rodents or small animals to enter. Fill any cracks you find with scouring pads, or fill them with poison. In a few cases you can use odor repellents like mustard oil.

Do you have mice or other rodents in your house? Look over your home for cracks these rodents can fit through. Use scouring pads, steel wool and poison to keep rodents from these cracks. Use mustard oil to chase the rodents from your home if they are inside.

A number of different pests reside in drains. Liquid pipe cleaner and snakes are effective at ridding your drain of pests, and should be used regularly. Debris can cause mold growth, which provides pests with an excellent living area.

Hairspray can be used to kill flying insects. It won't harm your pets but will kill the insects. Hairspray sticks to bugs and disables them. You can use it to kill a bee, for instance, that you don't wish to get too near to.

If a rodents have come into your home via a hole in the wall, use steel wool to take care of the problem. When the mice nibble on the steel wool, they will die from eating it. Keep the rodents out by mixing pieces of steel wool with putty and putting it over the hole.
