What is a Balance Bracelet?
A balance bracelet is a band that you wear around your wrist either all day long, or during your exercise routine. Typically they are comprised of different materials that allow your body's energy field to be naturally leveled out.
Who Wears These Bracelets?
Anybody can wear balance wristbands, but they typically are worn by active individuals during sports.
What are Some Brands of Balance Bracelets?
There are new brands that pop up every year or so, but the main ones that we'll be using for this test are LifeStrength, Power Balance and EFX. Keep reading for results.
LifeStrength vs. Power Balance vs. EFX
For the test between these three manufactuers, I grabbed three people that were unaware of the test I was putting together. All were males, about 170 pounds, 23 years old and in average shape. Because they were all active individuals, I knew they'd wear the bands.
I gave "John" the LifeStrength band, "Mike" the Power Balance Band and "Joe" the EFX band. Each of them had never used one of these wristbands and none of them were aware I gave them to another person. They literally thought I was just being nice and giving them a present.
The Results and Winner!
After the 3 month trial, I asked each one privately what they thought of the band. Each one ironically wore it 24/7 because they thought they were trendy.
The EFX band wearer, "Joe", wore it to bed, while studying and while playing raquetball everyday, just to name a few instances. He reported that while he loved wearing the band because he thought it looked cool, he never actually felt anything different. There was no "better balance" or strength of Superman. It was just a good looking bracelet that he enjoyed wearing.
The Power Balance wrist band wearer, "Mike", used his balance bracelet while running each morning, during his 8 hour shift at the grocery store and also to bed. Did he feel anything different? No. Why? Because it's just a silicone band with some holographic disk on each end that claimed to help you in a variety of areas of your life. This is wide known with the Power Balance company and if you just do a simple search on Google, you'll see that they've been slapped with a class action lawsuit because their bands are nothing more than a glorified rubber band.
Now the LifeStrength balance wristband on the other hand is a different story. This company, while rather new, has surprised many different people. If you go to their website, they have a variety of stories to tell you about. We're not concerned with those obviously, we're concerned with how "John" our test subject enjoyed the band. He reported back to me that while he couldn't exactly explain it, he did feel a difference. It wasn't like he put it on and a tingling feeling went through his body, but the more he wore it, the more he noticed the effect it had on his body. "I was able to sleep much better. I'm not sure why, but it was just a deeper sleep. I didn't get a new mattress or anything so I'm stumped!", John said. Also, he stated that one of his classmates heard about these bands and the "test" that you can do on yourself to see if it worked. "Amazingly, I could actually stretch farther and bend better", he said.
Our Balance Bracelet Rating
Between LifeStrength, Power Balance and EFX, on a scale from 1-10, I would give the LifeStrength band a 9 for effectiveness and style, EFX band a 3 for style and the Power Balance band a 1 for outright lying and an ugly design.
That LifeStrength band would have gotten a 10 had it given me actual super powers. One day, one day.
