Dental Care 101 - Everything You Should Know!
Do you ever consider how you care for your teeth? If you're the same as most people, then you may say that you don't think about these things a lot. They don't bug you until there's an issue, and then it's too late. But, if you take care of your teeth properly, you can avoid many problems.

Visit a few dental offices, check out a few places first. When you don't have insurance, it's sometimes best to go with a college that offers discounted work. Never neglect your dental health and try to go to your dentist a couple times a year.

Do you have frequent bad breath and/or dry mouth? If so, the blame may be your prescription medicine. This lack of moisture can lead to cavities and toothaches. Ask your doctor if the medication he or she has prescribed you affects your saliva production. If that's the case, you might be able to switch medications. If it isn't, your dentist might have some good dry mouth solutions.

If you have temperature sensitive teeth, change up your toothpaste. Before changing to a sensitive teeth toothpaste, try to make an appointment to see your dentist. Your dentist will identify the cause of your sensitive teeth.

If you are suffering from tooth pain or chipping, visit your dentist immediately. When you put off going to the dentist, you could be causing more damage. Seeing a dentist as soon as you suspect a problem is going to be far less expensive than waiting for the problem to become more serious.

Fluoride supplements may be worth checking out. If your teeth are not staying white or you notice an increase of gum problems, consider taking a fluoride supplement. One way to determine whether you are getting an excess of fluoride is by looking for small yellow spots on the surface of your teeth. If this occurs, stop the supplements and get rid of other fluoride sources from your diet.

Keep attached tissue on it, and attempt to get it back in the socket. If that is not possible, then put it in a little bit of milk and get to your dentist right away.

Be wary of carbonic acids found in citrus fruits as they can often damage the enamel on your teeth. Always brush your teeth after you eat or drink these products. This will prevent the carbonic acids from dissolving the surface of your teeth.

Don't rush when brushing. Brushing is a part of your routine of course, but a lot of people rush it. Avoid being this type of person. Be sure you have enough time to brush. Do not just rush through the motions. Thoroughly brush your teeth for at least a full sixty seconds.
